Photo period plant needs 12 hours of dark to bloom. Autos can bloom with any light dark schedule.

Welcome to the community looking at the picture see leafs with a smooth edge my thoughts is that the plant has reveged. And to answer your question it is not a male. Keep taking care of it ride it out. I have had one Auto do this before cannot explain why.
