I’m new here (both on the forum and growing related). 
This is my first grow.
One week ago I found a seed, and just for fun I tried to germinate it. I did not expect it to follow through, since I tried germinating 2 baggie seeds 2 years ago and it just didn’t do anything. Hence, I was not prepared for growing it, especially since it’s winter, not the best timing, i know… 
I improvised big time 
and here’s how:
- I took the cap from a hairspray can, with a hot needle I poked holes in the bottom of the cap for drainage, and also 2 additional holes to improvise a suspension system for the cap to hang from the lightbulb that lights my bedroom.
- Lights. I don’t own a lap of any sort, my only option was the room light. From the beginning until today I had a warm led lightbulb I kept the plant hanging off the lightbulb with some strings at a distance of 5 cm, but I switched it for another led that I had in the house, cool white 6500K, 75W, and my plant is now hanging at the distance of 10 cm. Following a 18-6 lights on-off.
- For “soil”, I went ahead and took some dirt from my garden which I mixed with some sand (the only type of sand I had available was sand that’s used in construction for cement and what not); I mixed the dirt with sand in order to offer what little aeration possible.
- Water and nutrients: until now I have used simple tap water & tap water with the HESI TNT Complex. I mixed 2,5 ml in 1,5 L bottle of tap water. I have been watering 1 day with simple tap water and 1 day with hesi tnt complex tap water. I have been careful when watering, always checking on how moist the “soil” is and did my best not to give it too much water or too little. I never had any water drain out the cap. A friend of mine gave me the hesi tnt, and also recommended I water the plant with rain water. Since I hadn’t gathered rain water ever, I had none. But today it snowed and I am planning on melting the snow for plant use. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Thank you
My seedling is going to be one week old tomorrow.

To me, it seems healthy and happy.
I have had some scares, but (I think and hope) everything is alright.
I know my conditions for this grow are really… not optimal, however I would like to hear some opinions & tips.

- Light system/watts/lumens/FLUX/PAR? Led matte bulb, 75 W, 1055 Lumens, cool white 6500K, 80> Ra.
- Ventilation system? None yet. Going to add some normal desk fan. Open to suggestions.

Welcome to the forum!
The single most important thing you can do right now is buy a proper light. Can you spend $150 or more on a light? Can you budget more for the whole endeavor?

Seeing how it’s a baggie seed, there’s a 50% chance for it to turn out to be a male plant.
I was also wondering if I could keep it up like this until the pre-flowering stage and then invest more for the best outcome?
Now I am also questioning how bad is my current light?
What kind of light?
I am from Romania and I might not find the exact light you might suggest, but I will do my best to find the closest thing to it.
There are many options. I strongly advise that you don’t buy anything until you get a thumbs up from an experienced gardener here.
Can you order an HLG 100 r-spec on Amazon? Alternatively, a 400w High Pressure Sodium grow light will work. Actually, a lower wattage HPS light would work, but they’re not efficient. You can use compact fluorescent bulbs if necessary, but you need a lot (not worth it, if you can get a decent LED instead). Fluorescent tube lights will work as a last resort.

Good seeds aren’t expensive. I don’t know if ILGM ships to Romania, but I’m sure someone will. I know Fastbuds has a Russian branch, which blows my mind.

Nice start. Don’t over water. Let it dry out some. The plant will tell you when she needs water. Good luck. Hope it’s a she. Hate to see a seedling turn out to be male. If I were you I would look to places that sell seeds. Even a trip to Amsterdam might be worth it to get some actual feminized seeds.

I will be going to Austria in a couple of weeks and plan on getting some seeds shipped there, and I will bring them back home with me.
I will be more careful with the watering

Absolutely way to go good luck I will be watching. Don’t give up on this one just yet. It is way too early to know one way or the other. You will be able to tell in a couple of months if it is a photo. It it is an auto you will know before then.

I would like to add, I water once a day (when the soil seems to be dry)
about 6-7 ml. Do you think that it’s too much? @Oldsoldier1976

it might be. they like humidity but not necessarily liking their feet wet.

15 days old, plant starts showing signs of either nutrient burn or magnesium deficiency?

Hello!!
I recently topped and I am very pleased with the result.
40 days & 30 days since surfacing.
I am worried about my small plant, it’s growth is stunned for some reason, with only 10 days apart the size difference is huge…

Here with an update 
She >(hopefully)< is 12 weeks since germination.
According to some guidelines, we’ve completed the veg stage and are ready to begin pre-flowering. 
- Germinating: 1-7 days
- Seedling: 2-3 weeks
- Vegetative: 2-8 weeks
- Pre-Flowering: 1-2 weeks
- Flowering: 6-8 weeks
- Harvesting
In my opinion, it could grow more (a lot more) before attempting to flower. I have been checking out so, so many plants and comparing them with mine. I’d be trying to compensate any negative factors that may have stunted growth (if it’s not just genetics, tho I couldn’t have a clue about that either) with giving it more time in veg, thus encouraging as much growth as possible (since I have just one plant), I want to make to most out of it.
Height: 4.5 in
Length of one of the superior branches: 6 in
Length of one of the inferior branches: 5 in
My curiosity led me to inspect for signs of calyx. Here’s what I’ve got ^ . ^
Too soon to tell, soooooo~ I’m doing my best not to obsess
too much over the fact that it resembles male parts. I guess in a few weeks I’ll know for sure.
LST And HST
- It has been easy to low stress train (lst) my plant. I used 2 elastic strings (from a mask)- pinned them (like a cross) into the interior sides of my plastic pot, in a parallel manner (beneath) each of my four branches, and then I proceeded to secure normal (not elastic) strings to each branch and to it’s corresponding parallel string beneath it. Whenever I feel like making changes, i untie the “normal” string and tie it again wherever I see fit.
- High stress training (hst). So far I’ve topped my plant once, which at first was fun, because I was concerned with the tip turning black after the topping… I thought I had infected my plant and it turned out to be fine, as it’s perfectly normal. I enjoy the neat aspect of the plant and I bet it appreciates the feel of an somewhat even canopy. A couple of days ago I nervously did FIM all of the superior tops, through this, the inferior branches have the opportunity to level up and also INSTEAD OF 2 TOPS THERE’D BE 3 OR 4!! Hell yeah!

Unnecessarily, I shocked her. 
A couple of days ago, I was curious about the root system, and thought I should check it out to transplant. Saturday night I was supposed to water, and I said I’d take it out of the container and water after I was done.
The soil being dry, as I was pulling the plant out, 2/3 of the root system crumbled and tumbled and that’s how I was left with a hand full of roots thinking my plant would surely die, because of the damage to the roots. Taking chunks of the soil, I put it back and I mixed it with some new soil and replanted the remaining roots and I did my best to salvage what I could, what was still intact.
After I was done, I searched here, I googled and I read as much as I could about what I could do to help the precarious situation I created.
Tons of tips and tricks with root growth hormones and fancy gels, powders and whatnot- I have none of those. 
OR DO I? 
Turns out that there are many substitutes for the fancy packed powders and gels- I used honey and cinnamon. I boiled 200 ml of rain water, then I mixed very well 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder and 1 1/2 teaspoon honey and left it for a couple of minutes to cool off a bit, then poured the mixture in 500 ml rain water so it wouldn’t be too concentrated. I watered with nutrient water first, the honey and cinnamon water and lastly I poured some plain rain water. And as I read other recommendations, I found that it’s best to protect the plant from too much light, but it was night time already, so I turned off the lights.
The next morning the plant had jumped back and was standing tall again, so that gave me ease. I also sprayed the leaves frequently for the 48 h after the root damage occourred. 
Learning as I go 
All in all, everything is fine now.
Last night I decided to top the lower branches (plus some light defoliation of the older fan leaves) and I have pictures with sexing update. Feel free to leave your opinion, if you do~ it’s very much appreciated.

My FIM job was horrible.
Nothing happened, but at least I tried.
On 1st May, I managed to split the main stem in half, I patched it up and all is well.
I’m working on getting her outside, in the ground. Hopefully in a couple of days I’ll be back with that update too
