Take a fool’s advice (mine), you need to defoliate a bunch of fan leaves and get something to drive into the ground to tie those branches to or it’ll end up like this.
I was going to remove a bunch of leaves and prop them up this weekend…but we had a very strong local storm yesterday with heavy rains and strong winds…a bad combination with top heavy plants. And remember it’s not a problem to remove leaves that look like they are dying, you are saving the plants energy it would take for the plant to shed the leaves itself. The plant is spending its energy to producing flowers and taking away the energy it spent on leaves.

Nice looking plant, I’d do as @Metaldawg suggested and stake them giant limbs up, it’d be a shame on if they did split off this close to the end

Oh boy… Yeah Ive learned ~ I aint growing leaves ~ Trim em down. Sorry to see this~ It happens. Now I keep a bamboo fence up around them wrapped with a plastic, clear tarp~ that has holes to breathe ~ and a tarp I can pull over when it rains ~I’ve had to deal with Bud Rot before, SO now I am aware of what Mother Nature Is Capable Of… Good Luck

I knew better but we weren’t supposed to get any bad weather yesterday and I was and still am going to defoliate and prop up what’s left this weekend. I know bud rot very well living in the Mid-South and the high humidity here. I’ve used some very light weight netting to wrap mine before, never thought about plastic wrap. I read something about another person using a leaf blower to blow dry the plants after a heavy dew or rain… thinking about trying that one since I’ve already removed a branch that had a infected nug and hope for the best.
Just becareful with a leaf blower - you don’t want to blow off any good stuff

I understand what you are saying and it’s not easy fighting bud rot outdoors. There’s been years I’ve lost 50% of the yield to the rot and you really can’t beat it,you just try your best to limit the spread and hope for lower humidity and sunny days. I know a fan would be a much better solution but I’m not going to run over a half mile of extension cord out to my guerilla grow…

My main issue is the humidity in my area and if we get hit with hurricane leftovers, it’s even worse. But this is home and I’m not moving so I plant more than I need for myself and hope I end up with enough to last awhile. Good luck with your grow as well.

You need as much airflow as possible. Taking off those " bad leaves" will help. I see you have some tied up. Your gonna need to tie up some more. I like to tie one stock to another stock on the opposing side to counter balance each other. When i dont have anything else to tie up too.
Beautiful plants. Buds are looking good. I wouldnt worry too much that you have bad leaves. But i would pick them off. Use some sheers and dump some weight, it will help you get the most out of your harvest.

You made some headway with it but you need a ladder or some one tall to defoliate higher up and to prop those nice colas up. Tall plants can be a pita especially if you aren’t tall…it helps that I’m 6’ 4" so I can do must of mine with my feet on the ground.
But after my disaster earlier this week with my 7’ ers, the 5’ ones are much easier to handle. Your plants look great, just need a little TLC.

If those were mine, I’d trim up a little more but not a lot more. As for tying them up, I’m not sure what you have available to use as a support…but anything from a piece of metal pipe to some bamboo… just some thing tall enough and sturdy enough to hold the cola’s up. You don’t have to pull the cola’s up tight to the support but loosely tied to prevent them from getting broken off. Obviously you know how to grow because they are top heavy, just remove a few more leaves especially any that are turning yellow.
Can I ask how long have they been in flower?

Every year I deal with big heavy branches… especially the main cola. It’s a nightmare especially when the wind hits. here’s a suggestion I am pleased to share with all of you out there who deal with heavy trees. I purchased a roll of 1/4 inch elastic strap from amazon for around $10. The roll is hundreds of feet. I used the elastic strap to create giant " rubber bands" I walk around the plant intertwining the strap with in the branches for support. Literally like giant rubber bands. You can be creative with this strap and support every branch. This strap will not break, has lot of give , easy to untie simple nots, and lasts for years. I start using strapping as soon as my girls reach 2-3 ft. I live in a wind tunnel ! I grow outdoors in the ground and grow trees that reach 12- 15 feet. end of August early September the buds are so heavy !! I get multiple colas the size of my arm. Until I discovered using an elastic sewing strap I suffered branch loss,. The elastic strap comes in multiple sizes. It took me many years to discover the " ah-ha moment. It is one of the cheapest and most efficient ways to keep your girls safe and upright!!
