Autos, trellis or stake?

Hi everyone, I have a question about growing methods for autos. Can someone please tell me if its better to use the trellis or stake system with autos? Im looking into a new hydroponic system that has a choice of either or. So i wanted to ask the people who i think can help me. Thanks to all y’all. -Daniel

I like to be able to take my plants out of the grow spaces for feedings, so I’ve never used trellis nets personally.
Also, I give my plants silica from early on, and I use B-52 from Advanced Nutrients which is the best stalk and stem strenghener I’ve ever seen, so most of my autos get thick enough where they don’t need too much support.
I only use stakes when it’s 100% necessary because it makes harvest day a nightmare. When weak branches are held up by stakes, and those stakes have to be removed before I can cut the stalk and flip the plant upside down, I have to tie rope or string around those branches, then carefully remove the stakes.
So I found a way that works much better for me. I either use the main stalk as support for any weaker branches with the soft green plant ties, or I tie two adjacent branches together and they actually each pull against each other enough to hold them both up really well. It’s much easier than staking!

From my experience it’s more strain dependent then auto vs photo.

Or rather phenotype dependent.
Genetics mostly no matter photo or auto, both can have plants that could be staked and some better netted.
Growing style plays a big role as well.

I also don’t net for watering and cleaning purposes. I like to pull my plants out and vacuum and disinfect about three times during flower.

Strong stems and staking have been my go to.
