I feel like I am always double guessing myself when it comes to harvesting and post on here a lot about it. I have 6 different Auto Flowers going at the moment. All sprouted the same day. 3 of them look like they can be harvest or very close to it. It’s been about 53 days since sprouting. I’ve been looking at the trichomes from different buds from the top, mid, and lower parts of the plants. I’ve seen quite a lot of cloudy trichomes with a bit of amber ones. I believe that’s what I am looking for, but I do notice clear ones as well. Wanted some opinions if I should wait or good to harvest, Thank you!
I think the ratio is about 80/20 milky & clear.
That third one looks about ready to me.
I like to see some amber in mine ,more sedating.
I have trouble sleeping.
Thats fast! IMO anyway I thought mine was fast… @60 days not that far yet.
I sleep well but need to be slowed down relax, and look for the same, dont like clear trics
Here’s all 6 plants I have in my flowering tent at the moment. All are Auto’s. Some you’ll see are more behind than others even though they all sprouted at the same time. The strains are Northen Lights, Gelato, and Girl Scout Cookies. The first 3 sets will be in the same order from the pictures above.
I just now from my own impatienceness harvesting to soon will be disappointing I have had buds cured and tast like smoking soup. They play tricks on your mind.
That it does. I’m always tempted to chop them down really early. That’s why I like to get other people’s opinion on here before I do so. Even with a microscope I have a hard time judging.
Gelato was my first auto, so far my best experience with autos. During the last week it made some nice colors. Taste. Potent. Now among my faves.
Waiting for your smoke report.
Cut a sample rather than trying hand held on the plant.
53 days total grow time. I can’t see it happening unless it is a strain that is specifically bred to be ultra fast. Royal Queen seeds have a couple autoflower strains that are 60 - 75 days seed to harvest with 40 - 50 days flower time.
The fastest auto I grew was 88 days but probably cut it early.
It depends on what you are growing and how it was bred. More than likely, sit back and let them grow.
@Amateur-Grower looking at your close up pics it looks like the sugar leafs are turning amber. I connect my microscope to a tripod and take pics in a well lit area. Be careful not to turn up the light too high on the microscope to get the best quality pics that you can. Just for reference I’m growing ILGM Zkittlez autos and I’m 110 days from sprout.
Really appreciate the advice! For cutting a sample I would just cut a sugar leaf off right? I definitely have to learn some patience when it comes to harvest time. When I see amber trichomes I feel like I might be waiting too long haha.
