I have a question first timer 2x2 tent and growing autoflowers would a hlg 100v2 3000k light be good for 3 plants or a viper spectra 600 w 12 band led and what kind of soil and when to feed? After veg any recommendations.

I’d go when the HLG. 3 plants in a 2x2 is doable, but it will get tight. There are tons of great soil choices and when you start feeding will depend on what soil you pick. FFOF will get you to 4-6 weeks without feeding. FFHF will get you to 3-4. Inert media like Coco and ProMix will need feeding super early.

My space is 2x4 and I only get two plants, each fill a 2x2, I’m using hlg 100 v2 3k, grows so awesome bud. Here’s one a couple weeks into flower.

How much you thinking of paying for the vipar spectra, I see it on Amazon for 160. You could grab the hlg 135 V2 rspec for 177.50 with code “dude.” Would rock a 2x2.

I may just get that for for my tent …thanks what’s a good soil and how and what to feed would you reccomend. Any suggestions soil feed schedule…sorry but I want it done right the first time with small grow …and 5 gal or 3 gal pots

Most people suggest fox farm soil, either happy frog, or ocean forest because they are buffered for growing mj. I am forced to use miracle grow potting soil, it’s not a great soil but I make due. But it’s a hot soil and causes some problems. Feeding depending on the soil you choose, some has nutes to last a few weeks, small grow a 3 or 5 gallon is plenty, I use a cheap 12 inch pot maybe 2 1/2 gal. If you go with fox farms soil they also have a nute line fox farm trio. Hope this helps.
Soil choice depends partly on how much control you want. If you want to set the cruise mostly for early veg, I would start them in FFHF in a solo, then FFOF when you pot up. If you want total control over nutrients, go with Coco or ProMix.
The biggest buzz I’ve heard about nutrients lately has been about Jack’s 3-2-1.

Our hardware store has big bags of other soils in the spring only, but my biggest problem is that I live in a apartment and can’t be seen bringing big bags of soil without raising suspension, same with large package deliveries. My neighbors are nosey.

Wal mart is 75 mile away, but thanks I have learned how to tame the beast and do pretty good with mg. It is what it is, I have nice dark green plants for sure, a little leaf curl but my girls usually drink up nutes by flowering.

Welcome as @Eagles009 mentioned I also vote hlg 135 V2 R-Spec because if you continue this hobby I promise you will step up to a little bigger tent eventually, and you’ll be miles ahead on the light . Get you a bag of ocean Forest potting soil. All you need is pH water till flowering time. Also two plants in the 2x2 space and it’ll be a little tight, Just my thoughts good luck

I use ocean forest for my autos , auto only veggie for 3 or 4 weeks so you don’t need any veggie mutes just bloom. I soak my seeds 2 days and then plant directly into 5 gal fiber pots. In the center of the pot o scoop out about a small handful of the ocean floor and replace with some seedling potting soil

Get a tote and hide your gardening stuff in that and no one is forced to use miracle grow most gardening stores have the ingredients to my mix 1/3 compost (mushroom or cow manure) 1/3peat moss 2/9 perlite 1/9 vermiculite

Yes I could do things that I could get around my nosey neighbors, I don’t like sneaking around and it would be a big tote to hold bags of soil. I live in the middle of nowhere in Nevada and everyone knows each other so hard to hide suspicious activity. My friend came up to me one day and said, started a new grow huh? He knew because I bought two bags of soil at one time lol and someone told him what I bought.

any ideah how long black gold with coco the moisture hold bend will go before needing fed?
Mostly Coco, so probably fairly early, but it does have earthen castings which will help. If you start your seedlings in it, watch the cotyledons. When they start to fade you can start feeding at low strength. I usually start with 1/3 strength tops.
