Autos. How do you get huge yields? I’m lucky to get 1.5 oz per plant. Is it the 5 gal pots? I can’t be doing that much wrong. I’m green all the way thru. No yellow or wonky leaves. Nice and frosty. Smokes and tastes good. Any help is appreciated.

Two things: good lighting and LST. I run an HLG 350R in a 2x4 and did a lot of LST. I got 15+ oz from four autos first try.

I’m not as good as many of these growers on autos… I get between 2.5 and 3.5 oz per plant with 300W of LED lighting and by using Jacks.
That is more than plenty of high quality weed for our needs.

Totally agree 
All about quality not quantity for me, and autos nowadays for the most part have the same quality as most photoperiods, some are possibly better imo, photoperiods are amazing, but only if you’re more worried about quantity

I use 5 gallon bags and earth dust to avg 3 to 4 oz from quality autos. Just did 34oz from 8 autos in a 5x5. Hlg 260xl and hlg 600rspec

What size pots? I’m using 5 gal. I seem to get less than anybody. I’m green to the end, but can’t break 2 oz.

@fauxguy The main thing I would say not knowing what you grow in would to not be in soil. Coco, promix, hydro will all get you bigger yields in side for sure. Autos also like fed light. You can feed heavy. But for me. I will watch things slow down then. I feed 1/2 strength or less. Strains can also make a difference. I use 5 gallons most of the time. I got 9 oz from one auto in my first grow with a 3 gallon plastic pot. Top feeding. I always use 5 gallon soft pots now. 3s for the autopots. Do you have a journal on here?

No journal. I’m using Ocean Forest soil. All organic. I add compost tea, fish, kelp, molasses, and just added bat guano. Plastic and Fabric 5 gal pots. 1.5 oz yield from a good one. Just upgraded to a Spider Farmer 2000w LED. I’ve grown 3 dozen plants so far.

I’m going to have to try the feeding less approach. I’ve had the pedal to the floor with Jack’s since the plants haven’t been telling me it’s too much, but it definitely seems a little slower on the growing side compared to the photos I have going. they seemed to have kicked it into a little higher gear by rotating feed/water instead of just feed.

I use 3 gallon fabric pots. The cheap ones that were around $20 for 12. Plants were small, but dense. IMO LST was the main thing. I had over a dozen ties on each of them at one point. Led to a lot of very nice top buds.

We have always paid someone else for the same flavor for past 7 years. Its description is similar to opinions posted on dispensary weed, very dry and quickly turns to powder when ground.
Hence, we are not growing to sell and autos seem like nice option.
Store mentioned 5-15ozs for most plants, if we get 4 ozs from 2 autos, the 600.oo invested is paid in one harvest. Plus we have ILGM seeds left over from the 10.
That investment, hlg light, ilgm seeds, 5gal pot 4 pot, jacks nutes, canacoir. Nothing else.
Knock on wood, its been simple so far.
By the way, you challenging us to flip a switch per say, 12/12, they both require water and nutes. So whats the challenge?

Sorry @brownsfan100 I keep forgetting about Jacks. I feed full strength with that. It is super mellow. I used GH nutes for a long time. So my brain automatically thinks of that.
I found for me. Feeding jacks was better than alternating days like the GH. You will see the run off numbers really climb. But that doesn’t effect your plant. I was doing the water days to try and get my run off ppms down to at least 1200. I hit the 3000s in flower for the run off.
I wasn’t going to do a journal for my new grow. How ever. If any one here want’s. I can start one and any one would be welcome to add their autos in there also. I have 3 little ones. Almost a week old for the autos. IMO, 4 oz from 2 autos is not good. Even if you have issues. There are a few strains out there that 2 oz is normal for. I have found a couple that give me 2oz every time. Some are just like that.

Thank you for the kind words. Heres the kicker, no matter how bad they turn out, they’ll be off the charts.
I once could say 24/7/365 ive smoked.
We quit after labor day weekend just for this special occasion of our first harvest.
We havent stepped on each others toes too much.
Maybe in a couple weeks, a sample would blow our wigs back.

I’ll be set to watching if you decide to pull the trigger! do you usually stick to ilgm autos or venture out? I really don’t hear too much about auto genetics aside from mephistos I believe it is.

Barneys Farm Gorilla Zkittlez Autos 94 days sprout to chop. Fox Farm Ocean Forest carried them 4 weeks with water and beneficials. Then fed Jacks for Tap schedule with Botanicare supplements every watering, and Recharge, TPS Billions and King Crab. 26oz total yield of buds, 238 grams trim and popcorn. 2x4x6 sideways Ac Infinity tent. Grow Light Science Pro Grow 320 led.
