Auto flowering?

Accidently posted in the wrong subforum and so I deleted the entry a couple days ago.

This is the third of 3 stunted autos that I overwatered and overnuted as a result. Two are in full bud mode, one with very nice golf ball size dense buds. One not so much. It’s been 9 weeks and I check every day thinking it’s going to start budding. But nope, more little fan leaves. It’s uneven nodes suggest it’s mature and it’s got a few pistols growing at all the bud sites. Being my first grow, am I to wait it out? Should I switch to 12/12 even tho they’re autos. Currently on 18/6. Will that even start the budding, I’ve read it might kick start flowering, but I’m assuming this girl is already flowering, just not blooming/budding. Thanks.

Just for reference to it’s size and time, the smaller one in front is at 5 weeks old. Topped it to see what would happen and it started flowering. Not sure if it was cause of the top or just the internal clock.

Thanks guys. She’s “preflowering” for maybe 3 weeks now. Not sure if that’s normal and why I’m a little concerned to the time it’s taking. The other 3 autos once they starting showing pistils, were budding days if not a week later.

Yeah, no need to switch lighting… she’ll do whatever she feels like doing. Some just get stunted… they are such divas LOL… and sometimes react to stresses by stunting growth.

Yep. Totally normal. Pistils show up as a sign of sexual maturity. That’s why we don’t really count the first pistil sighting as flowering day 1 - we tend to wait until the first explosion of pistils (affectionately termed “buttons” or “hedgehogs” around here). that is day one of flower

So after 4 more weeks (100+ days), still wasn’t “flowering” ie “buttons or hedgehogs.” So switched it to 12/12. 4 days later it started to grow more pistils on the top vs the fan leaves. Guess this auto didn’t auto after all. 3 weeks later, it’s started to finally bud with trichome production. Needed to do something cause she was outgrowing the tent in height and width. Hopefully these colas get large and dense. Keeping fingers crossed.
