My friend arrow gets swamped so I will try to answer. Cutting roots is a nurseryman’s trade craft. I see it as keeping a plant’s size in balance with its roots. If you need to keep a plant smaller than it would naturally grow you can easily prune the top but it’s larger root system will want to push grown because that is what they are for. So, accomplished growers will also perform root pruning. If you maintain a mother plant for clones, it is a necessity.
I have not done this with cannabis but have done it when dividing some landscape plants and shrubs in my yard
I have done it with my solo girl 2 times. So far no harm beside I sprayed her for her few wpm spots and burned the leaves a hair but 2 root trims so far about inch off the bottom of cup after the first trim the plant did look like it took off again growing as before the trim she seemed like she was at a stall point. Removing some roots allows for the plant to think it was up potted to a bigger spot and gives roots more free space to grow this making the plant grow I would have never thought to do this with a plant ever lol til he and kap brought it out of the arrows secret guides to growing cannabis book
I’m definitely not ready for that leap just yet. I still need to get an unpollinated harvest, but seems interesting. I like the two plants in the one pot idea, but like I said thats jumping off the deep end for me. Thanks again.
it is very real…
because im on the other side of the planet to most, i am mostly late in responding to anybody…some find this annoying and move on…i am glad i got to respond to you in time…
if you have a question, and dont see me responding on your thread, drop it on here… some awe growers and good friends will have your back… @beardless and @Mark0427 gave solid info…
yes, we have become more and more a society of selfish individuals demanding immediate response. acting more and more like three year olds instead of grown up adults. too bad there are so few who try to lead by showing patience and too bad there are so few who acknowledge and learn from those showing patience.
Now that’s some bud porn right there Doctor!!!
i could not highlight, nor take a quote from your statement…because it is all true …every single word you wrote…it saddens me …i believe the old hands must just keep on trying to educate and be patient …some will learn…some wont…i hope you are having an awe day my friend, and thanks for rocking on…
lol …missed you for a min …hope all is well in your world my sis…
That can create some problems even with the same strain. Some plants need more things than others (nutes , water ) just my 2 cents. And some ppl grow two and don’t have a problem. I’m not that lucky.
absolutely…that is why you use clones from one plant ( if ever you want to try the B2B tech ) …them being the same, they will need the same …but yes, these are some feisty lil f@ckers …and will always compete…earth boxes et al will be your answer for the organic grower…
Nice to see the growing gods being good to you even though its indoors!
thank you kindly brother i only lost one plant indoors:…outdoors on my side of the pond is not for the faint hearted , mind you…i know for a fact…most everybody took some losses … it is what it is…
In your country, indoor seems to also be a challenge…
Which you beat all the time, your ladies are gorgeous
thanks my friend…it is a challenge…
Thought you might be interested in this after seeing that tree seat, a personal example of directional pruning, taken about 3 years to get right.
Wow that’s a beauty
I see the truth of this every time I check in here
