Trics look pretty clear still give it a week or two and check for milky and mix of amber 20-30% amber has been my favorite smoke after harvest

it helps to see the whole bud if you don’t have a loupe, but seems to me you may have a few weeks yet. in the interim you should pick up a 30x or 40x jeweler’s loupe for $15. you’re going to want to look at the trichomes on the buds (not the leaves). some will harvest at 50/50 clear and cloudy or mostly cloudy or cloudy with little amber. personal preference and whether it’s a sativa or indica and how much couch lock you’re going for.

day 51 from flip? day 51 of flower?

unfortunately you can rarely go by breeder’s info. i find they’re always all over the place. i’m a little suspicious of the bulb… it’s a far red?

did you start counting from the day you flipped or from the day they started to show buttons?

I started it the day I flipped it’s from HLG it’s the far red bulb I only have it on 7 minutes after lights off.

from what i can see of a few on the buds in two of your pics they look almost all clear to me. the buds are just not well formed yet- lots of leaf with hidden calyxes- i really think you have a little ways to go. TYPICALLY folks will count flower days from when the plant ends its stretch and starts to form buttons, which can take up to two weeks from flip.

i haven’t tried any of those bulbs yet. i had no idea they were supposed to speed up flower. neat.

wow these look amazing!! not what i expected from the smaller shots. very frosty and they are getting FAT.

this is the time you really need to get in there with a loupe and look. those calyxes are buried in there. and each plant can go at it’s own pace if grown from seed. what are you seeing when you look at them through the loup? make sure to go after the bud because the sugar leaves get amber well ahead of the calyxes.

I figured that I was going to harvest around 10/4 which is exactly a week away from today but I have never done this and need all the help I can get lol

you just gotta go by the trichomes which we can’t see for you. and for your first time… holy crap lol. those buds are bigger than anything i’ve ever grown. there’s just so much leaf in them it makes me think they’re going to get twice as wide still.

@big123, you wanna take a look at these beasties and help a new grower out?

I just don’t want to be to soon or over ripe so I quit feeding nutes 9/20 I’ve read to just regular water for the last 2 weeks ( I use RO so I don’t ph )
I still feel as if the buds could get fatter still a lot of empty space on branches but the buds are hard as rock! You have experience obviously by you saying seeing all the leaves and stuff you think they will get twice as big? I’m so curious as to what you guys think I’ll get off these 2, I’ve pulled 2 little branches hung them and they smoked and tasted pretty good( still premature)

Great looking buds, excellent work!

We have to watch trichome changes, bud growth, and plant health.

I agree with @Agrestic another 7 days won’t hurt.

this is the part where Big usually tells me “one more week” and the buds are really going to swell.

ok, so i’m not going to presume what you do or don’t know, but the calyx are the round balls that the orange pistils are coming out of. i’m looking at the clear little ball heads on top of the trichomes growing off them. this pic shows one best. look at those through your loupe. i can post some pics of what clear, cloudy and amber look like if that will help.

Please!

here’s an ILGM article but i don’t think their pics are great. for me it’s RARELY as clear cut as this. sometimes i’ll have clear and amber and almost no cloudy and it’s frustrating. in that case i’ll chop when i start seeing a few amber. sometimes you’ll get a nice mix of 50/50 clear and cloudy. out of 50 plants, i’m about harvest my very first that has almost all 100% milky. it’s not an exact science, that’s for sure. but seeing clear and then seeing you still have a lot of green in there makes me think you have a little more time. sometimes you gotta look at the big picture.
