Hi All,
I’m looking at growing Blue Dream’matic in coco in Octopots.
I have 4 x 260w Sol Skins that are great but will add another 460w of light and Co2 to my 9 x 6 x 6.5 room.
I have an auto feed system of 8 pots set up and just want to hear if anyone’s used any great nutes for auto’s or has any experience with Octopots and nutes in general.
I’ve used Canna coco previously in drain to waste with God’s Gift and apart from a minor issue with fungus gnats, I had a pretty successful grow.
Has anyone used the ph perfect advanced nutrients range or recommend anything else?
I’m eager to get started but still pondering the nutes.

Hey there. I have four grows under my belt with the Octopots. I have two SSH getting ready to start in them as well. I did Super Soil for the first grows but my current setup is Coco Loco plus Perlite. I use GH Cocotek Nutes and they work very well. I used Organic nutes with the SS.
The Octopots work well but you gotta watch for PH drift. @Agrestic also runs Octo’s…

I normally grow Hydroponically but was doing a product review for these vessels. I like them well enough that I have switched my Autoflower closet from air pots to the Octopots. My main grow room will stay hydro

I was thinking of using Perfect PH Sensei Grow & Bloom to control the PH issue potential.
Have you tried that?

I have not heard of this. Perhaps I will research it. I was thinking about using a Torus Perfect PH stick in the reservoir. Those work very well but a little pricey for only 4 month control…
Better than killing a plant though

we didn’t talk about Adv Nutrients? it’s pricey but it was made for this. Ph will hold for 5 days- the coco version just may hold a little low for the octos
mine keeps looking worse and worse. really not sure what to for it

Yeah, I just looked them up. Looks perfect for these Octopots. I am buying a set of grow and bloom and trying it on this SSH grow

Do you need to add any nutrients when first planting into the coco/perlite 60/40 mix?
I’m about to get started and plant but not 100% clear on the best way to get them going?

Top feed until she gets her feet set. I like to set up my system for 72 hours to allow the wicking to take. Then I plant the seedling and top feed just a little using a pipette (maybe a week)

The Octopot guy says to only top feed once?
Also there’s a Youtube channel and the Octogrower suggests to add clonex and great white to the water that you first top feed with, then put over the octodomes and away they go?

I had success with photo period drain to waste with Canna nutes but this is a new test and I don’t want to screw it up.
Do you use much LST or defoliate with the auto grows?

I’ve been looking at OctoPots lately and I wanted to give it a go. The problem I have is my vertical space is limited at 48". I see that the basin is supposed to be 6" tall, at what height is the top of the soil in the grow sleeve?
I could re-do my ventilation and run my lights all the way up but I don’t think it’s going to realistically give my enough room. I’d be growing Auto’s.
