Hey all! New to growing. I have 32 seedlings in a 2x4x8 veg tent with 2 hlg 65w. Soon to be replaced by hlg300l. Only 32 because they’re not sexed… hoping to get atleast 12? females. I have a 5×9×7.5 with 2 hlg 650r. I plan to do scrog…i have two tressils 4x3.5 each. How many plants would you run to maximize? Thanks for any help in advance!

I am also curious as to what the answer might be to this one. I have 3 plants scrogged in a 3’x6’x7’ and I have a hard time …

With that many plants I wouldn’t recommend SCROG style of growing. You would do great just keeping the females, and flower them as they are in that space. I like to cram them in as well, and I have 40 in a 4x4 currently. I’ll be tight on space when I transplant to 3gallons. The pots will almost be side by side.
It can be done, it’ll be a good training session for a newer grower. Things to keep in mind is how much is the expected stretch of that strain? How much canopy room do you have, after they stretch, and flowering times, in comparison to any other plants that need to go in.
You’ll need to get them to flower a little sooner, as your space fills in, but as long as you keep all of these variables in check, account for them, I see no issues.

Really appreciate the insight. The only reason I’m going scrog is my height. My leds will destroy my plants if i don’t give 30 inches bare minimum… and idon’t want to turn them down…defeats the purpose of all the money spent on them…lol. so 30 inches from canopy… leaving room for drivers to heat and 5 gallon pots on 2 inch stands…i have to scrog or any strain will quickly touch my lights. Do you agree? Thank you so much!!

Generally you figure 2x2 for each plant, if you scrog it could be 2x3 or 2x4 per plant.

So 12 is too many?
I mean you can cram them in but if you do they will be fighting over light and it will have a major impact on the yield.

If the qc in your name means what I think it does, you could try to grow them outside , guerilla style. For your tent, I would only grow 4 big plants!
But then again, I don’t have the most experience here…

@420qc I would most definitely not Scrog at all. I would keep them contained by Fim’ing the hell out of them as that is a lot of plants. Sure pull the weak ones. Why I don’t like messing with rhis many. I had my hands full when I tried to grow 8 plants.

This photo was when they was young. I had to pull ine as she had no strength in her limbs. All these plants hit between 6’6” to 7’6” height and width was 6’ to 8’ wide.

Definitely wouldn’t scrog. If your doing the same strain, you could scrog if you do much fewer plants. If you have several strains, look into sog growing. You could do all 32 in that tent doing sog (sea of green) style.

SKORPION is correct. This is the general rule for spacing when SCROGing.
This is why I suggested to let them grow. Super cropping and low stress training can keep a canopy in check. Especially if you do some training in veg, it will keep a disaster from happening later in flower.
