I have a 48X96X80 Vivosun tent. I have 4x1000w King LED’s. Do I have sufficient lighting ??? My first plants (White Widow) I got a little over 200g for 5 Plants. I think I can get more but How ??
You figure lighting by square footage a 4x8 is 32 square feet at 40 watts per foot that’s 1280 watts and that is the actual power draw not what it says on the light a a Bull Sh*t 1000 probably pulls around100 watts. 30 to 40 watts per square foot is what you should shoot for.
Let’s see your first set up and grow , to get an idea of where you can improve
Unfortunately, all those lights combined only equate to 752 true watts. So about 18w a square foot. This is your bottleneck.

Think of LED lights like amplifiers. There is no regulation, whatsoever on wattage claims for both. Just like a rockford fosgate 200 does more than any generic 2000. So shall any HLG 600 do more than any off brand 4000. The advertised watts of grow lights are max loads, which would burn out the diodes in a few minutes, or what they equate the light to be in HPS replacement. As a community we are a little to harsh on the led really. Way better than fighting t5 heat placed 8 inches from canopy, let alone hps heat in an enclosed area.
