It’s been difficult to tell when this 1 is ready to harvest. Have been waiting for hairs to turn amber. Is it possible they can go back to white from being amber?
Once they’ve turned amber they stay that way.
Got any pics of your plant ?
That’s what I thought about them staying that way… the photos were 4 days ago and I feel like the pistols were really starting to amber. But today they look more white again… is it possible buds still have lots more to grow that’s why may have turned more white??? Confused
I need to buy a stinger magnifying glass. Hard to get into trichomes with this one
Yes and yes.
Judging from your pics I’d give them another couple weeks at least. Maybe a 3 rd one depending how they mature.
Fraid any magnifying glass just won’t cut it.
You’ll really need a loupe or some such that will magnify 40-60 times minimum to be able to see the trics clearly.
If you are seeing white pistils (hairs) after most have browned and receded, then it is probably foxtailing, which is really nothing to worry about. I just cut off the foxtails when I harvest since the trichs on them won’t be matured.
Cool… lots of help! I thought I may have let it go to long and was going to chop tomorrow. I’ll give it a couple weeks then and get a stronger mag. … I’m dying
Thanks
Thanks… is is still fine to let it grow a couple weeks if it’s foxtailing
Patience is key at this stage. Usually you’ll see 3 separate eruptions of pistils approaching harvest tho very few folks actually let them ripen till the 3 rd one.
And no you don’t have any visible foxtailing in your pics.
They’ve filled out very nice and are close, I just can’t tell how close without magnified trichome pictures.
They look pretty full to me… it’s a Cali dream never have one so not sure… I did the FIMing technique where twisting the tip with my fingers to help grow more. The 3 colas I have have circled have flowered later than the others and have so much more leaves growing (still big buds) than others that look more ready to harvest. Could this be because of the FIMing?
The hairs will stay amber but new hairs will form white this overlap is what makes your buds thick
