Airy Nugs, What Causes It?

Just curious what growing problems produce airy nugs. I picked this up last week.

Sometimes it’s genetics. Most the time it’s not inadequate lighting.

Lighting is a major factor in nug density. My first grow went well. Plants looked great. I was feeling pretty good about myself until I realized that while plants looked good there wasn’t much weight to the buds. I’ve upgraded my lights twice since that first grow and my buds are rock solid now.

Lighting is usually the cause because alot of home growers dont wanna unass the cash on proper lighting…BUT…an improper environment is a huge cause. If it stays to humid or to hot all the time. Another one is having to much nitrogen during flower. Lots of reasons lol

When chopped a Few weeks early Can also end up with Airy buds.

That might explain it because it really hits me like a sativa. I want to clean the house and walk the dogs after a couple of hits. It’s not all that good, but it’s not too bad either.

Some strains are just gonna grow more airy buds regardless. My sour diesel (and most other sativa dominant strains) buds are never as dense and hard as my indica heavies like sour bubble, blue moon rocks, white widow, afghani, etc…
