Specifically the big leaves that are curling and dying on the bottom of my out of flowering plant it is a white widow and has been in flowering only for 2 weeks. Also I held up a light meter what number should my colas be at on the top branches on the light meter because I don’t want to get my legs too close I have noticed the White widow had a lot of fresh tri comes that have died back a little bit which is a concerning thing for me.
Don’t touch it. It is already stripped to the minimum.
I would look at the light manufacturer’s PPFD map. Also, not much you can do with a tall single colas plant. The best you can do now is to bend it half, (or a little less) and support the bent top until it heals. There is a high risk in doing this and may not be something you want to do.
Next grow look up topping, fimming, and LST - assuming photoperiod plant
Some growers do a 21 day and 42 day defol. On day 21 You take every fan that has a visible stem and cut it. And on day 42 do the same. I’ve done both and have had good results. And as stated above you can do some training or monster cropping for the height issue.
The plastic thing is just to catch my runoff water from going on my hardwood floor. I don’t always have it around the base except the fact that I watered recently and it keeps the dirt from flying everywhere.
Yeah I didn’t have the balls to bend the stock in half unfortunately there was this weird leafy appendage that I had to get rid of I just couldn’t handle it it was obviously not producing anything of good quality and had weird leaf patterns and it was excessively leafy appendage.
Let that stuff grow through its delima theres no need to cut it of thats the perfect stuff for your ice water hash dont waist what the plants giving ya it may produce a lot more than ya think it just reveged for some reason but looks to be putting on flower now, looks good keep up the good work
@ChittyChittyBangin was referring to the green plastic, two-pronged pH meter you have. They are inaccurate and next to worthless of measuring pH. Test the pH of your feedings and test your runoff and maintain it in teh range 6.3 to 6.8.
Can you tell us a bit more about your grow? Soil, light and nutrients specifically. Like stated, that meter is junk and would be good to replace it with a decent meter. As to measuring light; there’s an app for smartphones called the “Photone” app. It’s free and at least allows you to provide numbers that others here can understand. This is all the better to help you.
You do have some issues but you will get a harvest. So, well done so far!
Is there room for improvement? Absolutely (although true of most of us). Stick with the forum and let the members help you get set up to grow some wicked plants.
I personally trim only for airflow. My tents are very thick with foliage. More fans to convert light to feed flowers. I am a strict if its brown it comes down though guy. Always have some.
My lights are some really cheapy pieces of crap that I got off of timu. Basically one was 100 watt supposed to be full spectrum obviously it’s not cuz it’s a little bit pink. the second light is 150 watt daylight LED. Plus 25 fluorescence in the back would be 50 Watts I’d say I’m pumping out about 250 w Max with all 4 light. Also I’m using foop cana veg and bloom with a little bit of cal mag on the side. This is my first attempt at an indoor grow by the way the white stuff on the surface of my soil is diatomaceous earth I am trying desperately to get rid of these gnats which it seems to be somewhat effective now that it’s been dried into the top layer of the soil.
Oh yeah how could I forget this is an autoflowering White widow that was given to me by ilgm due to a seed that failed to germinate so I’m happy that they stuck by the word and sent me a seed that was fertile I forgot to disclose that it wasn’t a normal photo. Plant
Yeah it’s only been flowering for 4 weeks at the most how much longer should I let it go I know the trichomes the tricoms blah blah blah. Jk. I will take some 1600 magnification pictures in the morning with my digital microscope
