I have 6 plants 1 each of big bud, amnesia haze, chocolope and I want to try to clone each of one of my girls any advice ?
Clean your utensils, cut the stem twice, (once at removal of the plant, and again for final trim inserted into gel) and dip in gel immediately so as not to get an air into the stem.
High humidity (100% if possible) area after cutting, use CloneX rooting gel, and use the CloneX foliage spray so they still get nutrients until their roots develop. Do all of this and you should have 99% or more success rate.
A lot of people all have different methods, maybe some others can share…

Would a cloning machine be a good idea ? And if I use a cloning machine can I go from hydro cloner to soil ?
I love mine. Clones have roots in about 5-7 days. Yes you can go into soil.
I actually scape the outer layer off on the bottom of the stem.
Amazon has a nice 20 site machine for $65
@familyman what kind of cloning machine do you use I have looked at some from a place where I am going to start purchasing my equipment from one is a 24 site ez clone and another is a 9 site ez clone machine I am planning on doing some major cloning to get experience and save on seeds as much as possible
I use rapid rooters in soak them in ph’d clonex or rizo solution for a while. Then I prep glass of ph’d water and cut with sterilized razor then go directly in glass of water to avoid embolism. Once I have desired amount, a pour small amount of rooting gel into a small container (never dip clone into whole bottle). Once I’m ready, I sterilize razor again and recut at 45 degree angle and scrape edges of stalk about 1/2" from bottom. Grab my rapid rooter and gently squeeze some of the excess water out, then roll stalk in gel and push about 3/4 way into rapid rooter. You can trim leaves or not. Once your done, give a good mist of water and a spray or two into dome then place dome on top with vents closed. Place dome under low powered light source on 24 hours light.
Try to keep moisture in the dome but not built up in tray. After about a week I will usually crack vents and will continue to mist plants. If all goes well I will open vents a little more couple days later, and they will usually be about rooted after that.
You can build them pretty cheap. Lots of directions on YouTube
When is a good time to clone and where do I take the cutting from ?
Do you need a heated dome? I would much rather make my own clones than get from friend. I’ve watched a short video on one of Bergman’s tutorial I guess you’d call it and I think I can do it
Do you make clones of all the same strain or different ones at the same time ?
Have you taken cuts from flowering plant to do monster cropping
I have a heat mat that I can place under the tray. I don’t always need to use it though.
I don’t monster crop. That’s a good method for people wanting large plants and don’t mind taking the time to get them. I don’t have the patience or any interest in doing that. Lots of people do, just not for me.
You can take them from all over, and usually best get them from a mature plant so at least 4-5 weeks old. If you plan on topping your plant you can usually root that if you want too. It doesn’t really matter as long as plant is large enough to produce enough to meet your needs.
I have 6 seedlings 2 each of big bud amnesia haze and chocolope and I want to take cuttings from each plant what do you recommend as far as the number of cuttings taken from each plant
I think that depends a lot on your grow space available. I personally take a minimum of three, in case I lose one. You could throw one into flower early.
Monster cropping is a lot of fun, and I did it once to everything I had in the tent. I should try it again soon. You do get some odd growth from MC, but the plant is fine.
I looked at monster cropping not sure I want to try that just yet looked at SOG but it says that is where you put the plant into early flowering not sure about that either so I’m going to clone for awhile before I try monster cropping
Take a cutting big enough to place at least one node below the soil line. Make a fresh 45* angle cut. Scrape off at least one node worth of “skin” off of the lowest part. Stick the business end into an aloe filet. Stick in a rapid rooter. Keep in humidity dome for a week.
No chemicals. Nearly no cost.
