About Nutes and Tea During Flower

Hey Forum Folks. This may be my last inquiry regarding my 1st grow. Probably not, but maybe. In case it is I want to thank everyone that helped me get through.

Thank you every one that helped me get through. May all your seeds grow into beautiful ladies with bountiful harvests.

Now, my inquiry… How do you all do your water and feeding after the pre-flower is past? I read that I should feed one watering and the next only straight pH balanced water no Nutes. Then repeat. And the last 2 weeks I should start to flush only. This is advantageous for me because I am almost out of Nutes. But a friend today said I should be Feeding, Feeding, Feeding til they can’t eat no more during Flowering. So what do all if you recommend.

On to Tea. I have all these Fan/Shade Leaves that I’ve plucked throughout and I think that is what I can make Tea from to give them? Is that a good idea? How do I make it. Admittedly I do make the absolute best Sweet Tea for humans to drink, but have never made any for plants.

Thanks a big ole bunch- Karen

If youre nearly out of nutes, pick up a bag of worm castings and make a castings tea, you can also add seabird or bat guano. Pick up some ulsulphured backstrap moloasses also amd add a few tablespoons to your tea to feed the microbes. This is a batch ive had brewing for 24 hours. Fed 9 plant with it.

Honestly you can add all sorts of stuff if you can or have access to fresh water fish tank I’d grab a half a cup of fish tank water preferably that hasn’t been cleaned in a few weeks per 5 gallons add 1 cup of fly frass per five gallons (but only after 18-20 hours of brewing) I would add 1/4 of black strap molasses for minerals(this does not include the sugars added for microbial growth) possibly 1-2 tbsp fish hydrolysate per five gallons (different kinds available I think the one I grab is 5-7-14) alfalfa meal can be added as well. Also 1/8-1/4 cup of epsom salt when you’re about to feed the plants. And I’d recommend cutting the tea at least 2:1 good luck.

I feed up to the last 2 weeks then it’s water feed only to harvest Growmie. I’ve also fead right up to harvest, no noticeable difference other than I saved on some nutrients :love_you_gesture:

Ok then. All that seems like it’d cost just as much or more than just getting some more nutrients. I been using the GH Flora Micro and Bloom Liquids. Could I just get the bloom and not the Micro? I mean, it’s not a big deal to get both, I just hate being wasteful. So no use for all those leaves I been saving? Lol! Dangit. Learn something new every day.

BTW, just an fyi here, I read an article yesterday that claims Cinnamon will kill off Spider Mites. I imagine diatomaceous earth keeps them away too. That’s what I used inside my tent. I didn’t have the mites but the way people talk about them I figured better safe than sorry.

100% right on this one. Adding some molasses, worm castings and bat guano or sea bird guano during flower is a great choice. I have found better results using sea bird rather than bat. It’s alittle cheaper and ‘for me’ has worked better.
The augers from the molasses do a fantastic job of feeding the life in the soil and helps with resin production.
Alittle can go a long ways.

Cost wise after initial setup is going to reduce costs and well ultimately the end product will be cleaner and tastier. Do you want to ride in a Honda Fit or a Cadillac Coupe DeVille? It’s all up to you.

Thankfully I’ve not had them as of yet, but thought the article might be helpful to many.
