8 pot 13 gallon RDWC

How much will yield be for 8 pot 13 gallon RDWC? Is 3, 315 LEC Sun system light sufficient? Any advice for first timer? I been doing soil for a year and I want to try hydro.

Draw your ideas up before implementing them. Having an idea of your plan of attack will help.

Store bought or diy rdwc?

How big is your space? I fill up my 4x4 with two gals in five gallon hydro single buckets. You don’t want to run out of room…

My space is 13x8. I want to know If 8-13 gallon pots is enough or should I do more?

Eight 13 gallon pots will completely fill your space. I’d start and probably stay with just eight. Otherwise besides your full time growing job you’ll fill that space right up, with good lighting :wink:

Agreed lighting will be the biggest challenge here and often with new growers.

I have three 315 LEC Sun System lights. Is that enough?

Time to ask the man @dbrn32 lighting up a 8x13 he’s who I’d check with…

13x8= 104sq/4 (sq per plant) =26x 65w (ideal sweet spot for lighting)
1690w

3x315=945

1690-945= get another light and you’ll still be short a bit lol so maybe two

The 315’s are good to flower about a 3x3 canopy. If you run a healthy grow i would expect about a gram per watt or so.

My brain is to tired to see how that compares to his 13x8 or my math I did…
Did I win? @dbrn32

13 x 8 is a big space…
I keep my tables at 4 x 5 with a 600 watt hps magnetic ballist in a xxxl air cooled hood…
I think you would need a 630 watt cmh for that same space…
Not sure , because I don’t run cmh…
I hear good things about them tho…
I’m old school and it’s hard for me to change my ways when everything is running like clock work… :+1:

Um @peachfuzz lol…

#1 you don’t veg with HPS do you? My God lol

#2 I did the math above for that space (at least to my knowledge) I’ll let @dbrn32 clarify

No …
I use cheap @ss cfls for vegging…
12 cfls at 23 watts each…
I’ll get you a pic of my setup right this moment…
Clone and vegg…
Plants are pissed at me tho…
Not giving them any love…
Had to raise the lights , they were getting burned…
Lol
This space is 2 x 4 …

No tent , no nothing…
Just some reflectix and a cheap bathroom light fixture that I put a whip on and some stupid little hooks to hang it from and some y’s to double up the light’s…
Pretty cheap setup…
Lol
Oh ya , and one oscillating fan…
Lol

Super easy setup…

One fan , one 951 air pump…
No media , just neoprene collars and water and nutrients…

I have better lighting and all of that…
But I’m just using this spot just for a moment and still killing it…

My question is will three 315 LEC light be enough to cover eight 13gal pots

I understand that and we have asked @dbrn32 for clarification.
I said no.
Did you see my math above?

@peachfuzz I know I’m giving you a hard time friend

How big are the hoods…
You need to figure out your foot print and how much heat is created by the height of the lights to determine your best footprint of light at your distance…
Than you will be able to determine how much square footage you have for plant matter and also if you need to lollipop your plants and scrogg them…
Lots to consider…
:v::sunglasses:

I usually base my footprint by my heat…
I’m usually about 24 inches above my canopy with an air cooled hood , but I could be closer…
I want a bigger footprint of light , so that’s why I keep them that high…
I also have free floating walls that keep my light focused on my plants…
If you want to be cheap with this hobby , you definitely need to think out of the box…
