Four will fit well, you could get five but it wouldn’t leave much space to move them around if needed.

I agree 4 is great. I like bigger pots. 10 on big clones…20 on a mother and 5 on auto typically. 4 10 fit 4x4 of the 4x8 perfect.

I just finished 3 autos and a photo in 7 gal cloth bags in a 4 x 4. 5 would’ve been too crowded.

I’m with the boys on 4 I have a 4.5x4.5 bathroom and I can fit 4 nice with minimal room. Anymore and there is no moving any unless u remove some then put back lol. If grown good u can still pull a fair amount with 3 or 4 as u would 5 or 6 plants. Sometimes more is not necessarily. Sometimes less gives u more

What medium do you intend to use? If coco I would step down to 3 gal. I’ve been down the 7 gal pot road and didn’t notice any real difference in yield compared to my 3 gal. 7 gal takes way more water too. You could fit 9 3gal pots in a 4x4 with a short veg time.

It’s a waste of soil I would do 1 in a 7 gallon 4x4 or 4 3 gallon that’s just a personal preference
