Howdy Folks, I have 4 plants in a 4 x 4 tent using the SCROG setup with 1x 400 watt HPS light, I was just wondering whether it would be worth throwing another 400 watt light in there, i have several spare. I guess 2 x 400s wouldn’t equal 800watts? or would it?

if you have spares, you have nothing to lose by adding one more… 2 would help with getting propper light to the outer edges…

If you have an extra throw it in. Just monitor your temps.

400w covers 3×3 thats it. It takes 600w. Just buy a 600w. And you have a veg and flower room. 400w good for getting them tall. Then flower under 600w and add a 5th plant to the middle. Most par is at center. And then you can scrog twice.

perfect answer… 1 400w HPS really isn’t enough for a 4x4 tent a 600w barely covers it tidily… seeing as you have extras putting 2 x 400w makes for an excellent idea plenty of light for nice fat buds… but make sure you vent the tent properly going to be tough to stay under 85degree’s with 2 400’s in there unless your a basement grower in which case you should be fine

Thanks guys, Some great info here. As soon as i switch to 12/12 i will throw the other light in there, temp may be an issue so will need to keep on top of that. I can put 1 of them in a cool tube so that will help a bit.
