@Oheeeoh@PP3121 im not sure i even did the right format for the post. Hoping this atleast starts to tag someone. I have not talked with anyone else here.
You should pH your water/feedings to 6.3-6.8 when using soil. Not sure if that was your problem, the other three don’t look that bad, but it is a target you should be shooting for.
Bad root growth is sign of bad watering technique causing root rot. Too little water too often. Need deeper soaking and 3-4 days to dry out before watering again.
There we go , thanks you! I bought a tow in one meter Yellow PH blue TDS PPM. So recently the ph goes from 70 down to 6.7 7.0ish then back up to 60 or 70 and the PPM is always around 1200 then light goes to 200 300. Ive been looking around and trying to find the best not over priced or so cheap brand of the two. I was watering a good watering until the water comes out of the bottoms. Very green lol. I was going to get some distilled water and try to figure out the PH TDS meter but would rather just get a decent kind.
Good practice, just wait long enough before watering again. If you don’t know how fast the pots dry out, and you have the ability to monitor them closely for a few days, you can wait until your plants show signs of wilting. Now you just need to water one day sooner moving forward. It won’t hurt them during veg to wilt a little, just don’t let them dry out late flower because the leaves won’t recover.
If you are worried about the accuracy of your pH/TDS meter, until you get that sorted out you could water with straight R.O. water (get a few gallons at your local water and ice store). Fox farm ocean forest should have plenty of nutrition in the soil for your plant at this stage so if you used plain R.O. or distilled water you could eliminate one variable until you get the meters figured out.
I think when my plant was that big I was watering every third day, but my plant is in a 5 gallon pot so ours may require different amounts of time between waterings.
Awesome, thanks you two. I tagged you and another as i wasnt sure if i added enough information or did this right… Last night i watered well and felt the pots. I will get that sorted today with the meters and get to know how all three feel. Thank you both so far, i was worried for the rest of them. Hope everyone has a great day and weekend ,Happy Friday!!
Hey @HappyGoLucky21 Late to the game these days. Looks like you got some sound advice
I would also get some neutral pH solution so you can recalibrate the pH pen to ensure accurate measurements.
Watering is the hardest part, I have found. Not knowing how much how often is crazy! I a only my second grow but feel as if I have learned so much.
The weight of the pots method is has worked very well for me on this second grow. I am 6 weeks tomorrow, 2 weeks flowering. She is drinking much more. Have been watering almost every two days when the pot feels light. Just have to keep doing it and learning. I don’t think there is any other way.
I’m far from an expert. Just trying to share what I have learned and what is working for me.
Hey bud i appreciate it. Any advice you got throw my way im good at taking it ant turning it in to success. Im trying to get the weight of the three pots down, all different weight lol . I thought i was doing good for the first time then one girl fell on over and she gone =(. Learning though! Thank you
I fed the girls their super feeding two days ago. Today i felt the pots and i could tell a major difference in weight today. I saw a little yellowish and added a little soil in the two smaller ones as they were a little loose just like the one i lost before watering really well. I gave them a feeding of just water that ran off about a inch. I watered them with just water using the color chart tester that came with Up Down PH, still need a better PH reader i need to just do the dang research on a not cheap pair TDS PPA. I also added a Tablespoon of Golden Barrel Bulk Unsulfured Blackstrap Molasses.
After i fed them i again am trying LTS as i took them off the other day when baby passed away.
Here’s after the first feeding with all three Fox Farm products at once.
Started LST after taking a day off after losing one of the babies.
Not sure if anything can be done, i have some things ordered to put under the pots so they don’t soak i think thats bad, not sure.
Do you know if i can trim my fan leaves? I have garden tape that i want to tie each on down to get the maximum potential. I only tied one node if thats right down and didnt trim or do anything else. Wanted to make sure about trimming.
Also pushed leaves under each other to form the canopy. Is this yellow something to be super worried about, i know it could be a number of things such as lights 20" 21" away. Or plant food. They are starting to flower.
Hey! Those three are looking very healthy! They are definitely starting to flower. I’m not a fan of auto flowers for this reason. I’d rather be in control. I wouldn’t do much more lst. Let them stretch and flower. The yellow is fine. It’s just a sign of rapid new growth.
I don’t know what’s up with the plant you lost. Clearly something very toxic or wrong going on there. I wonder how it grew so big with no roots. Did it look perfectly healthy then one day like that…overnight? Maybe you soaked it in some absurdly high/low ph? That’s just a wild guess though.
