Just finished wiring QB ,this will definitely will burn my plants if I’m not careful, was using a ts600 mars hydro , need help introducing this light to my plants

That is a lot of light for that size tent. Keep your eyes on it. You probably won’t ever have to run it full power.
Yeah , I guess there is no easy way to get the metrics with out really skipping the underlyings , I’ll just put it 50% and 30-40 inch above and take it from there , will watch for praying , burns and bleaching , any advises is welcome
Ts600 is a 100w light, hlg 320 xl is 340w, half power 170w, maybe start at 100w lowest setting and adjust accordingly. 170w is almost double what you had before and you have better Samsung led now. I guess you can also put them farther from the plants, anyway Just my 2 cents

Yeah that’s why I upgraded from Mars Hydro , that s why I created the thread as well , once I wired it I understood the difference , will make good buds for sure
I was running a 200w Mars light (made nice buds) and went to a 440w w/ Samsung 301B.
It is a whole different grow. I have a PAR meter so I try to keep the 440 set to the lower end of good buds.( I think I’m at 529 on the meter)
When I said “whole different” , I mean I was not prepared for the way the plants used nute’s. It seems they are deficient after that light went in at flower. At least I won’t have to trim as much…

I’ve been using this method for 7 yrs. But the new led’s got me. You only have 5 ft height I’d put the light as high as you can and then adjust power settings.

With a better LED grow light, your plants will really suck up the nutes now.
Don’t forget Cal/Mag, P & K if you’re in flower.

That defeats the purpose of my lazy grow.The grow box has a nutrient pack the goes in at the beginning so you aren’t supposed to need anything but water. My mother plants are in small pots so they get nute’s regularly. I have another tent with the same box Didn’t add the fertilizer bag, but its getting a nutrient solution instead of just water. Seeing where that leads…in '79 I did hydroponic grow with a 1000w metal halide. That used a lot of power and generated a lot of heat, so I just grew outdoors til I was stuck in Colorado for 4 years and started a bathtub grow with CFL’s.

That’s why I’m doing organic soil grows from here on out. Load up with bat and seabird poo, add some worm squeeze, bloodmeal, bonemeal, gypsum and eggshell meal, dolomite lime, azomite, iron chelate, plop in the seedling, add a packet of Recharge every 3 weeks, feet up and water when required. Easy peasy.
No ppm checks, no soil PH worries.
Cruise control for cannabis buds.

What I do with my 260 xl is put it 32 inches above soil line at 33% to start then 50% 1 week in and slowly raise knob and never let the plants grow closer then 18 in, your middle will be a little hotter so up those numbers by 3-5 inches

As long as the leaves don’t start pointing upward you’re in a good spot. I found that my flowering GG’s like the 260-w V2 around 20inches from canopy top at roughly 85% dial strength. Any higher the leaves start preying. (Pointing upward)

Mmm not sure I’m thinking more nitrogen, it’s a blue dream , and they can handle heavy N , maybe even lock , since I did have a really intense dose before flipping to flower , my transition was not good , I’m just waiting it out will get better once I clear her out
I’m seeing the same. Good lights really make the plant magnesium hungry.
When i first got my hlg 260xls i burned my plants a bit. Lol. Figured i had to keep the lights all the way turned down and slowly get them the light they needed. U could probably keep that light all the way uptop the tent and just adjust the power on the light for what the plants need lol. I had mine 8 feet up and half power before they stopped burning. Now i got an ok handle on them. A whole lot of light for that tent but flower will make u super happy u got it.

Once I burned my whole plant just by introducing another light improperly, I will never forget the mistakes that set me back
