I tried making agar dishes and what a MESS! And, after all that, about half of them ended up being contaminated! So I bought some pre-made agar slants but haven’t done anything with them yet. Well I evaporate my qwet down to a taffy (snap/pull) consistency. If you keep it in a liquid form that means there is alcohol in it. I would imagine the completely evaporated stuff doesn’t contain alcohol anymore.
