2nd grow ever, Blueberry auto in soil. step by step easy to follow grow

“KiaOra from Aotearoa - Hey there from New Zealand”
Im pretty new to growing but have 1 horrible grow under my belt where everything possible went wrong so have already learnt alot about what not to do hahahaha

We are starting with 9 blueberry autos in soil and using…
-House and garden Soil A and B
-Roots excelurator
-Bud-XL
-Top Shooter

And CX Nutrients
-Wilt guard
-Tanlin (defence against nats)

Plus an local organic seaweed mix.

We are growing 9 autos from seed in a 1.2m square tent under an 600HPS lumatek pro digital ballast.
Im waiting on the ultimate grow light to arrive for the next grow, the " optic 8+ " its not cheap ( $1250usd or $1900nzd) but… its truely amazing from what i have seen so far online with up to 30% more yeilds, So im going to compare the 2 grows in yeilds aswel as quality for everyone to see the real results.

Please let me know if you would like to see the detailed feeding scedule and for anyone out there with any tips please feel free to let me know.

Week 1.
Seed germination.
-Inside wet paper towels place your seeds.
-Place paper towel onto a plate or bowl ( I prefer plastic because it doesnt get as cold )
-Place bowl or plate inside a bag and leave a bit of air still in there.
-Find somewhere Warm, Dark and Room temp 18-22 celcius and leave them to do their thing.
-Come back in 48 hours to check how everything is going.

If the seed in cracked open and you see a tap root poking out then you have passed your first test and its time for the next step.

Planting your seeds.
-Prepare your soil before and make sure its soaked in PH’d water for 24 hours ( ours is 6.0 )
-Pot size we use it 1 Litre.
-Fill pots with soil and only lightly pat down, make a 5mm deep hole for your seed.
-Place your seed in the hole with the tap root facing downwards and cover with soil.

We put our small pots under 30w 6500k LED light bars at a distance of about 20cm away.

Stay tuned for our detailed progress.

So I should probably tell you all about my first grow i guess.
My first grow was an absolute shambles to say the least…
We started off with some seeds we found in the buds we brought (Clearly grown by some amature who doesnt know what a male plant looks like), absoulutely no idea of what they were or where they came from, I mean nobody knows anything about weed in NZ other than you smoke it, you need to hide it from mum and its very expensive.
Any way we planted 8 of these seeds in coco inside a tiny wee closet at a friends house under a very cheap 1000w LED bestva grow light (this is after the 30w 6500k leds) feeding with low doses of the CX nutrient line up and left them to it.
Ok we were off… we quickly realised it was way too cold (16 degrees celcius) in there and added a small fan heater, we came back later on to find the temp around 38 degrees celcius… shit thats way too hot just after being way too cold and the young seedling did not like that at all.
After sulking for a few days and not really growing at all off they went. by this time we had sorted out our heater and humidity issues by adding a very expensive inline fan with an built in thermostat and toning down the heater.
We topped them twice way too early to create 4 main tops and they were soo bushy.
Too bushy i think, the light wasnt really getting through the plants enough and this would plague us right through our grow.
After about 3-4 weeks of growing they had out grown this tiny closet and we realised we had to move them somewhere bigger, I also realised how much bloody water they drink sitting in the fabric bags which evapoate water too quick in exchange for more oxygen to the roots, shit i was feeding them every 2 days atleast 1-2L.
At this Stage we realised we have an sativa strain and its not a auto.
We found a place to put the girls ! yes all girls, we were very happy with this and sent them to their new home.
This is where the fun starts…

So to recap our mistakes in the first few weeks.
-Plants got too cold.
-Plants got too hot
-We topped them too early.
-We had too many plants in a small space.
-They were too bushy with really close nodes.
-Too much water evaporating from mesh bags.
-Oh and the electrical timers didnt always do what they were told…

I will post more of the story as i go because lets be honest, nobody likes to read a novel in one go.

Week 1.
Start counting from first good set of leaves to get the 55 day finish date roughly.
20% coco, 20% compost, 40% soil all cheap stuff, nothing fancy.
No nutrients.
Watering with PH 6.0 water out of my tap filter, Base ppm is only 20.
Water is warm, like atleast 16 degrees so it doesnt shock the plants.

Oh cool, thats really good to know thanks.
Can a top notch grow light speed things up by a few days ?
The Optic 8+ is coming for the next grow
