2023 Outdoor strains

At this moment it occured to me to have my strains at least be legal age THC. I realize I got some teenagers (15-19%) and now I feel all bad and stuff.
Awww man! :flushed: I feel like I bought underage kids alcohol.

But knowing my sick nature-I got them some Everclear ,Cisco,Crazy Horse, and Olde English 800 40 oz for old times sake :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

SL out.

And then there are many that say it is all about the terpene profile and many strains that you can keep smoking and get higher and higher. I hope the promised potency is there to minimize the amount dose to get the desired response. There is a lot of genetic experimentation with CBD and THC strains to increase potency and this is just the infancy of this science. Someday we may have a new definition of a one hit wonder. Even the teens are better than some old Mexican dirt weed we used to get.

Growing our own to make sure nobody spikes it with fentanyl, carfentanyl, formaldehyde (PCP) or contaminates with insecticides.

that’s what I’ve felt, like this Pink Kush from dispo here is rated I forget exactly something like 17 - 21% - one of the most satisfying buzz ever, all over the ‘spectrum’ physical to cerebral and just a pleasure to smoke.

I just made a seed inventory and wow I have 64 strains. How did that happen?

I know I’ll be running @Graysin seeds. I’ll let the family pick the rest and they have requested, Cement shoes, Peyote Cookes, and Alaskan Thunder”Firetruck”. I have one Purple Headband left I want to try and three ILM strains so that gets me near my legal limit. Plus I also need to drop a CBD plant.

I also drop seeds for two local growers so I’ll have to see what they might like. I trade MJ teens for hot pepper plants with one and the other provides some final product back to us.

It will be a smorgasbord/buffet for sure.

Feb 1st- let the games begin! Dropped two each of my regular M/F photoperiod varieties in rainwater (1000 m)l and 3% hydrogen peroxide (500 ml) in small plastic cups covered from the light with aluminum foil and placed on a germination heat mat. Starting a few weeks earlier than last year with the regs as I need to wait 6+ weeks to be able to sex sort. I would be happy with one fem from each.

Last year was 1st of April, was to early for my greenhouses. Probably mid May this year, except for 1 GSCX that I just started the clone. This one with be outside the greenhouse and it will be lst alot.

I started my regular seeds on April 2 and feminized seeds April 8. A few of the plants got bigger that I wanted. Eight feet tall plants are just too big. Shooting for 5-6 feet tall plants, plenty big for good yield and easier to manage.

@Bigbud420 - are you growing in the ground or pots? I grow in 25 and 30 gallon pots. You will have huge plants with that much veg time.

As @TheShortAnswer has replied they will be large plants. These were started the 1st of April last year.

The good news is you can aggressively top and shape them out into a bush instead of a tree. While in veg an outdoor plant is virtually unstoppable.

New to outdoor, but I’ve germinated more plants than I can grow in the tent …

Hella Jelly (Humbolt Seeds)

I think they go outside in my area around April 15, but they’ll have ~6w veg by then! Advice? (Maybe I should take some cuttings and use those outside)

I keep mine Bansai all winter. My previous keepers and any new seed run pheno hunts. When I release the mini krakens into the ground they never skip a beat. I Bansai them in 4” veggie pots or 2” strawberry pots. Use them both.

Bansai keeps them small, easy to water, east to sex, and you do not need strong lights. I just use a couple 13 watt aquarium leds I all ready had kicking around.
Here is a blueberry pheno hunt I am doing right now. These have been sprouted since thanksgiving. Cooler temps too slows them down. I haven’t had to even top this batch which is unique, but if they stretch I hack them down to the first node again. I decided to do another seed run with them before spring. All sister seed and brother seeds in an open pollination.

If you are going outside w them anyway….

Also, April may cause them to spring flower. If they start budding on you hack off all the flower growth mid May. They will regrow veg quickly this way. Other wise I have found early spring flowering can cause them to stall out and not get their stretch/veg going again. Hope that makes sense.

@noddykitty1 - 100% agree with putting outdoors; 3rd week of May at the earliest for me… I’m in Massachusetts. Can’t wait to get started.

Last year I started 4/1 and they went into the ground end of May. This year I won’t start them until tax day.

Guilded Genetics brags about breeding for fast finishing, early onset flowering and strains for outdoors in northern climates. Their ‘about’ page is a bit confusing but maybe its a translation thing.
