1st Time Grower - Southern Climate Challenges

@Autos-only @dbrn32

Below are pics from day 3 (yesterday). Only 1 Cotyledon is present, the other looks to me like it may be in the soil still - you can see some green sticking out.

I’d take a new pic for today, but they’re currently in darkness for another few hours.
Is only having the 1 Cotyledon ok?

She will be alright! Dome her up and keep her humid!

The leaf missing won’t matter. If mechanical damage was reason and stem was also damaged could have negative effect on plant though.

I’m a first time grower too and because of that I’m not going to answer any cannabis related questions. However I’ve lived 90% of my life in the hot humid armpit we call the south and it blows my mind that your humidity is that low. My tent is inside a spare bedroom with the AC running, no humidifier and my exhaust fan will still come on to suck out some air when the humidity hits my preset level. The first thing I would do is go to Lowe’s or HD and buy a cheap $12 thermostat that shows temperature and humidity and double check that your getting the right readings. Just my 2 cents but I’d hate to ruin a plant over $12. Good luck!

Don’t have any real issues with humidity with our AC running. Keep our downstairs at 71F, upstairs at 70F during the day, drop upstairs to 65F @ night for comfort. Run a dehumidifier downstairs and drain it about every day or two.
I was able to get my tent to 99% humidity when I had my exhaust & lights turned off - but at level 1 exhaust it sucks everything down to ~60% with my lights all the way low.

Todays pics!

The good old south… :roll_eyes::roll_eyes::roll_eyes::roll_eyes:

8 days since it sprouted the soil (pics below!) . Issue is I have to leave in 8 weeks for a couple weeks.

Ideally, it flowers and I can harvest it and let it dry while I’m away. I’m fine with it not being very potent as I plan on buying some rec stuff while I’m away - this first plant is more of proof of concept that I can do it lol.

Otherwise, if it hasn’t flowered I will have to plant it in the woods outside somewhere or just kill it and trash it. If I have to do either it may be best for me to just scrap it now.

Hoping for some advice on the time autos would take? Its granddaddy purp auto flower. Again, I’d be very happy to yield some smokeable flower.
Thanks!!!

Its hard to say with autos bro. It could start up in 4 weeks or 12… it all depends on the plant

13 days post sprout pics! Everything looking alright?

They look real good for day 13, have you checked your DLI?

I’m running them at ~30-32 DLI. 18/6.

So, dummy me!! I realized last night that when my lights are out I still have some light entering via my humidifier. Pic below for reference on how much light it gives… Will this be bad in the long run for me?! Don’t want to stunt it, turn it into a hermie or w/e else.

It’s shedding skin on the stem it seems like… Is this normal?
Day 15 since sprout pics

Hi, i also live in a deep south, sub tropical climate. I have tried to grow outdoors/in my shed for over 5 years. The bottom line is, " no matter what you do, if you cant grow any thing of quality with out getting the temperature inside of that tent to below 80° Fahrenheit ".Outdoors no way, heat, bugs, and mold equals a complete waste of time in the end.

Looking good! If this is an autoflower grow no the light will not bother her but you will need to get that resolved before you try any photo period plants.

She’s gonna be a grower!!

Yea brother need to tone out the blue.

This light being on won’t hurt anything in veg regardless of being a photoperiod or auto. But I would find a way to cover or disable it.

Just watered to RO and my RO is showing 914 ppm & 5.8ph. Using FF Ocean Forest.
Day 17 since sprouting so middle of week 3. When should I start feeding?
Does the autoflower have a different feeding schedule than photos?

Your ph is a little low, someone who grows in FF correct me if im wrong, FF is so weird to me :rofl::rofl: need to up to around 6.5 to 6.8 if in flower. If in veg shoot for 6.3 to 6.5ph. Your PPM is at the max i would think. I try to keep my ppms around 800 if an auto
