You’re using QBs right? Have you decided on how you want to build the frame? If you have a grainger nearby they’re a good source for aluminum angle or u channel. If you’re making a bigger light the 1/8" thick 1"x1" or 3/4"x3/4" angle would work good.
A small drill bit, some 3-in-1 oil to pre drill the holes then some of these screws is what I’ve used to put mine together. There’s other options like if you have a pop riveter you can go that route. But screws with pilot holes worked well for me and many others.
I use picture hanging wire to make a loop on each end of the light. Then use normal light hangers. Some people prefer to use eye bolts on the corners for a place to hang the lights. But if you don’t already have hangers I’ll add the link for them to.
Hard to see but if you look close you’ll see the thin wire going through holes I drilled in the frames. Just a loop on each end. Like I said that is a personal preference. Eye bolts look nicer but I went for convenience. I can’t think of much else you’ll need. I use those same screws above to mount my driver’s to the frame.
Thank you! I see what you are saying about the wire going thru the hole! Nice looking lights you have there!
I am expecting to have everything this week and hope to be able to assemble it. Have daughter and grand baby coming up for a week next week so fingers crossed I can get it done by then! @dbrn32 congratulations on the house and your upcoming new arrival!
