A customer has a question and I hope we can get some opinions on it, thanks.
"I’m actually trying to make a desensory and figured I needed to know a lot more before any of that happens. It seems like a legit company to buy from. I’m 22 and this is the first time growing. I’m going to get moree information about growing them and how to do it with the best quilty possible. I lost my credit card or it would have been here already if it wasn’t for that. what Is that season is it best grown in? How long do they grow? Is the smell bad when growing. Is the yeild going to be good for just one plant? If I used one or two seeds to start out with would the other 18 be good for the next season? Like store them in a good safe area or food saveer? It would be a outside grow does need more sunlight or would it be to grow in the woodl? Do I need stuff to protect them? From pest and stuff. I don’t need a licence or anything to get it done? I’ll start indoors before it gets to big and smelly. i want to get the best product I possible so when it’s completetly legal I’ll know how to do everything the best to a t. Is the smell bad like how far away can you smell it? I live next to a military family and don’t want them to smell it to bad.
grow in good Rich soil? And let it so it’s thing right? I’m obviously going to do a lot of research before I grow. Seeds don’t expire correct?
I can’t wait to start growing and expanding.
Ps I think the weed inderestly is going to blow up here in the next 5 years and I want to be a leader in the game it’s not easy or cheap to start. But once its going I think It could be a multi billion dollar bussiness. (As is everything) So the more info the better. im still trying to figure out the law aand legal side of things. But this might save my life. Any friendly addinally information would be out standing. Thank you again and can’t wait to get it out! Plus how long does it take to get the plants to fully grow before cropping and such. Also like curing it and stuff like that. If you have information on anything that I listed abovr that would be cool or links to good websites, books and ect. "
What Is that season is it best grown in?
A: Grow indoors and you don’t have to worry about the season. If growing outdoors you’ll want to plant them about 12 weeks before the length of your days and nights become equal.
How long do they grow?
A: Depends on what strain you are growing and if they are auto-flowering or photoperiods. On average 2-3 months for autos and 4 months for photos.
Is the smell bad when growing?
A: Yes, you can definitely smell them. If this is a concern, grow them indoors in a tent and use an extraction fan with a carbon filter.
Is the yeild going to be good for just one plant?
A: You can get a good yield from 1 plant by using different methods of LST.
If I used one or two seeds to start out with would the other 18 be good for the next season?
A: Yes. Store the seeds in a cool dry place (like in the fridge) and they will last for several years.
It would be a outside grow does need more sunlight or would it be to grow in the woodl?
A: The more light the better, regardless of inside or outside.
Do I need stuff to protect them?
A: Thats up to you. These plants have grown in nature though, on there own, for who knows how long.
I don’t need a licence or anything to get it done?
A: A licence to get what done?
Is the smell bad like how far away can you smell it?
A: Depends on the strain, temperatures, wind and other variables. If you’re worried about it, then grow them indoors (see above).
Grow in good Rich soil? And let it so it’s thing right?
A: Start them off in a low nutrient soil. One with no nutrients added or a seed starting mix. Also choose a soil that drains well so you don’t drown the seeds. A about 3 weeks from germination you can transplant to a nutrient rich soil (like Fox Farm Ocean Fish or Happy Frog).
Welcome to ILGM forum. There are A LOT of accomplished growers here that can help if you cannot find an answer to a question.
One thing that I would suggest is that you download Robert’s Growing Guide (it’s free) that will help out a lot. The Forum has a a lot of good information under the “guides” section at the top of the page. The “Blog” section is likewise very helpful. AND, of course, there is almost always someone on line 24/7 to pick up on your calls for help and guide you.
One thing that you did not mention that a lot of first time growers overlook is the pH of your water and fertilizer. If there is one thing that is important in growing good cannabis, it is pH. I have had many grows now and all my really good grows had almost no problems with pH. Getting a pH meter and “pH up” and “pH Down” chemicals to keep you pH in the right range is essential to having a successful grow.
On your first grow, shoot for a successful grow and not so worried about huge buds and a large yield. Those will come believe me. For now, get through the first grow and you will be amazed on how well you do.
Good luck on your grow. Jerry
