(you can also run it into the breaker and turn the whole house on like it normally would be…just turn off the breakers to the BIG stuff IE central air / heat so that everything left on is small enough to run on the genni

This is what i did at my moms place…similar anyway

so she flips that switch and Grid power is off…start the generator…and the whole house has power like normal…Grid is up…shut generator off and flip the switch back to grid…(its just the breaker in from the genni and the grid tied together)
