Still doesn’t help if you have to move a plant for some reason and it’s almost a given that you will need to at some point.

I think that designing a screen for more than a plant or two is almost asking for problems. Although so is overthinking something as simple as a method to allow plant growth to branch out.
You can use a tomato trellis to do something similar, although that’s more like growing vertical as opposed to a scrog which is growing horizontal. So it’s two entirely different growing methods that will require different techniques to do successfully.
If you’re struggling with the concepts of a scrog, perhaps running a sog type of grow is a better option for you.
