i think the extra fan an raising up onto a brick an a choc has helped alot,can only smell slight mould smell when i stick my finger into the bottom holes,dehumidifier i had to order as none around in the shops,(doh)not in my price range anyway,no feed today an still thinking of transplanting but not sure if would help much,humidity 60% after turning fan up,is getting hotter here so outside air is humid already,hope order arrives asap next week
I am not sure @aussie123556
Typical, but I wish I could get my RH to the level your dealing with. Mine is running at 35RH and nothing I do brings it up higher. I am in seedling stage. Not deleting your journal are you??
@Screwauger,nah just being cautious,i know how easy it is to hack,is another thing iâm learning during this mid life crisis hahahaa
@Screwauger, dehumidifier in there now will see how it goes,feed today 1168ppm an 5.7 ph,humidity was 64% when i left,temps 71 degrees farenheight or 22 celcius,also got x60 magnifier,works great can really see whatâs going on,how long does it take usually for the trichomes to go half amber from cloudy,1 week,2 weeks,just wondering when to start flushing down?and also can you change brands of nutrients mid flower ?as iâm almost out an want to try another brand or should i get the same an finish it off,?
dehumidifier is collecting alot of water but humidity level still 70% or so itâs reading,have changed position an mucking around with the intake fan a bit to try an find a better spot hopefully,is a good quality one but havnât really noticed any change yet beside the water in the tray below an keeping temps down which is good,so it is working to a point,maybe the hygrometr is not as accurate as i thought.
I use three (FANS) in my tent @aussie123556 as they tend to all be a little different! Is the dehumidifier in the tent or outside the tent?
@bob31,wow.3 ,inside the tent in the middle of the 4 pots.and the intake an outake still running an oscilating fan turned up also.
How big is the room that the tent is in? It might be better to dehumidify the room around the tent if possible?
But I get my ideas from @Countryboyjvd1971 so lets see what he has to say.
@bob31,is a 4x4,an their on a crate atm,when i had it on the floor of the tent it went down to 60% ish an i raised to see if would go down any further,intake is at the bottom also on opposite side blowing up,outake in top corner attached to hood.
@bob31
I think your on point with dehumidifying the room tent is located in that would definitely be the best option
Keeping in coming air dry will keep tent dry as well
I run a dehumidifier year round in my basement/grow room and or a/c depending on the time of year to keep temperatures and humidity down
I think the best way is having a dehumidifier on a shelf with Drain line to a sink or drain
So you donât need to worry about emptying the bucket every day
Some new ones even have a pump built in so you can just run a line out to drain or whatever
@aussie123556
You can put it in the tent if you want but it wonât be as efficient cause youâll Be pulling in humid air all the time
If you dehumidify the room once room is dry it will only run to maintain Humidity level
In tent with humid air it will run more
FYI Iâm a commercial HVAC tech so I have a little experience with humidity control lol @aussie123556
I also donât like giving up tent space I want as much as possible for my girls
@Countryboyjvd1971,i wondered this myself as when i had the humidifier running thru veg i could get the humidity down to 40% with no intake air from outside coming in,humidifier only,and outake fan aswell on low,it has warmed a little outside but not that much,was almost going to try that again.so itâs the outside air mainly doing it?
I believe thatâs whatâs going on here @aussie123556
With your screen Iâm assuming your on the other side of this rock and coming into the summer now so yeah temps rise and so does the humidity
If you started to veg on spring or winter humidity is normally lower that time of year
I run a intake fan exhaust and min two circulation fans in my tents air flow is key to preventing mold issues
sorry, I edited my post. I use three FANS inside my tent. For dehumidifier I use an AC unit and the extra fans keep the humidity low enough. Right now the outside humidity is 81% and inside my grow it is 51% RH
@Countryboyjvd1971,yeah spot on,i was thinking the same an hoping the dehumidifier would fix everything.lol,am learning heaps besides growing indoors
@Screwauger @bob31 humidity in tent 42% an temp 68-69âŚthatâs alot better,was really hot today,maybe dehumidifier kicked into overdrive,runoff on outdoor somango day 43 flower (pic above) today 2030ppm an 5.1 ph,after 6 liters of 5.8 ph water it was 700ppm an 5.8ph,i took the ppm reading after the second lot of water went thru,2000 ppm runoff seemed way to high as i hadnât checked for a while or given straight water for a week as i was busy,but didnât seem to notice any yellowing or anything anywhere.am happy with the humidity today was a small win for me,
@bob31,i am on the max 4ml as per chart an have found that after 3 days of feed in a row i can give a day or 2 even off,an also a day of water only,am trying to work it out somthing like feed,feed,water,day off,an continue the same again.
if the runoff ppmâs are too high stick a phâd watering in between the feedings and see if that doesnât help ?
