@timmyv324 Well, from what I’ve read on this site, it says to split the stem “a few days to a week, not sooner” so that is the plan I’m going with! Gonna be a pain in the butt getting under the net to the plants in the back! I do have a zip tie gun so that will make things a little easier! I’m a good 5 weeks from harvest yet so there is plenty of time to figure this out (IF anything is wrong) . It may be as you say and the buds are using up all the energy and that’s why some of the leaves are starting to die up close to the buds!?

@Dieselgrower Back to this stem splitting subject. A couple of my plants have multiple stems at the very bottom of the plant. Question is: Should I pull the dirt back to get down to the main stem and split it only or should I split each individual stem right above the surface of the dirt??? I’ll get a pic up tomorrow that shows what I have going on down there so you have a visual of it. Will post weekly progress pics as well!

Thanks all,
Gilly
UPDATE: After taking the pics and a closer look-see I believe I will be able to split the MAIN stem on all 5 plants!!!

@Gilly well I’d say 5wks compared to 1 week is a big difference. In that case try it out. Good luck looking forward to the pics.

I realize that! I wasn’t planning to do it till it’s time! Just getting my ducks in a row so to speak! I like to plan ahead, that way when it’s time I will know what I need to do!

@Dieselgrower @bob31 @MattyBear @Donaldj @timmyv324 Well…here are the weekly progress pics!
First 5 pics are my lower stems. The more I look at’em I believe there will be enough room at the bottom to split the MAIN stem ONLY! (may hafta move a little dirt?)
The next 3 pics are of the dying leaves around the buds I was talking about last night! ( if anyone knows whats going on please let me know?)
The last 4 pics are of the weekly growth progress! (caution: Bud Porn ahead!!! Today is week 5 of flower! My, my how they grow)

Thanks all and enjoy,

I feel like Big Bloom would be hard to overuse. It’s a micronutrient blend and really doesn’t have a lot of rough stuff in it. I use it pretty close to every watering and haven’t had much issue. I use it in conjunction with Tiger Bloom, the much stronger sibling. FF recommendations are higher than what sounds like you’re applying.

Just saying, your leaf issue might be something else.

@Donaldj @Dieselgrower I’m just afraid that I nute burned them just a bit! It’s only on 3 of the 5 plants! I gave then a pretty healthy dose of straight 6.5 Ph water this morning just in case I did nute burn them hoping to dilute the nutes down somewhat! ( if it is nute burn wouldn’t it be all 5 plants though???) Need to figure this out pretty quickly!!!

Thanks,
Gilly
UPDATE: Dammit, upon further investigation I’m about 99% sure I nute burned them just a bit. A few of the leaf tips are brown and dying! (not a bunch of them at the moment) The good thing is is they are 5 weeks (minimum) out from harvest so I believe they will have enough sugar leaves to finish out if it doesn’t get any worse than it is now! (there are still plenty of sugar leaves around the buds and I think they will produce a few more sugar leaves in the final weeks of flower) Will keep a super close eye on them for the next few days! and see if it continues to get any worse!!! Hope not! I’ve come too far to F it up now!!! Who knows, I may be gett’in all worked up for nothing! I also believe that part of the leaves dying is due to the buds using up the energy in the leaves because it is mainly on the smaller buds!!!

Location makes a difference even if same strains or clones where they are in relation to lights walls, plants can and will eat faster with better temps and light. So 3 could easily being showing signs earlier

@Donaldj @Dieselgrower Thank you, thank you!!! You just made me feel a hellava lot better!!! Like I said earlier, if I did over feed them wouldn’t they ALL be showing signs of nute burn???!!! The 3 that are doing this are: 2 are on the back wall of the tent and the other is in the middle of the tent! The 2 that are fine are on the front wall of the tent where the access panel is! (zipper panel)

Thanks again my man,
Gilly
PS / Don’t take it personally but I love you man!!! He, he!!!

@Donaldj @bob31 @Dieselgrower OK, we have a definite problem here with 2 plants!!! The 1st pic the plant has curling leaves as if it got too hot! (mainly on the upper leaves) The 2nd pic the plant has striped leaves! What the hell is going on and can it be fixed???

Thanks,

Fill out a support ticket - I didn’t see one in the thread (sorry if I missed it).

You are in soil, yes?

Can’t zoom in on the pics and the yellow hue makes it hard to see exactly, but your clawing leaves on the top pic look like nitrogen toxicity to me, so you need to get PH/ppm measurements ASAP and probably get your stuff in order to do a flush.

I am not an expert. I did not stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night and I do not play an expert on TV. So please wait for a soil grower who has more experience to chime in.

@Bogleg Started flushing yesterday using 6.5 Ph water!

@Gilly honestly looks like some light burn. Or heat stress of some sort the way them leaves are folding up. What changed as far as your temps .possible light burn to. Maybe your lights to close. I know If your in a small space you get closer and closer to your lights.

@timmyv324 Nothing at all has changed! Light is a good 18" to 20" away from the buds! Temp in the tent is only in the low to mid 70* 's! Just checked them again and I don’t know if it’s me or not but they seem to look a little bit better since I started flushing them yesterday!

I guess saying folded under or down would’ve been a better term. But they can still get burned from the light but not likely in your case. It doesn’t seem to affect the whole plant from the pics just seems to b in the taller areas. Maybe if it’s possibke move your light up just a bit more maybe see if that will help any or even bend your taller colas over a bit to increase the distance. Just a thought. Hopefully your right and things are improving

@timmyv324 @Dieselgrower @Donaldj @bob31 Was just sitt’in watch’in the TV and I had a thought. I DID make 1 change day before yesterday. I turned on a little 6" fan pointed down towards the plants. Don’t know if this is the problem BUT, the fan was positioned right below my light. I wonder if the fan was blowing the hot air from the light directly onto the 1 plant causing it to overheat because it is just the 1 plant that looks this way? The fan was pointed in that direction! Would this be possible? My light is air cooled via a 6" external inline fan that sucks air from the vent in the bottom up through the tent and then through the light and exhausts into a 6" carbon infused filter! (which works like a champ by the way) I’ve since shut the fan down . Don’t really know why I turned it on to start with as my fan sucks enough air through the tent to keep it in the 72* to 76* range. I’ve also been flushing with 6.5 ph water the last 2 days just in case I did get the nutes a bit too strong! Just a thought!

UPDATE: GOOD NEWS!!! Just checked the girls and it looks like they are coming around!!! It might just be me but it sure looks like the leaves aren’t as curled up as they were! Maybe between shutting the fan down and flushing the last 2 days they might just make it!!! (Sure hope so!!!)

I would definetly say the fan could’ve been the culprit. Even air cooled if you put your hand under the fixture it’s still pretty warm plus the direct air from the fan. I think you may have found the problem. Let hope so anyways. . Keep us up to date. Thanks.
