Canna cap experiment

Celtic Brotherhood is good enough for me @darren I guess I picked the Ireland thing up wrongly, sure it’s only a wee drop of water between us.
I’ve followed similar shows. The idea that Parents can have their kids taken into care when all they are doing is trying to give them care is unbelievable. For once a District Judge near me got it right recently, he threw out a case of a man who was growing for his kids condition. How can it be illegal to grow and use a Medicinal Plant that has been used to heal for 3000 years? Crazy Stuff, Total Madness.

@Willd :joy::joy::joy: No Probs Ragnar, can I be Floki?

Yeah that’s what I was thinking @Wasthatmee , it’s madness that they risk losing their children just for getting them medicine is mind blowing to me, I hadn’t heard of the case you said about in Ireland, so hopefully I’m not risking to much growing it for medicine for myself, I do worry about the risk of the boys in blue kicking my door in and raiding me, specially for my sister’s sake, but she says she’d rather I grow it for medication as it’s to expensive to buy and you never know what you’re getting, and she’d rather I did that than all these pills

As a result of more and more emerging evidence that cannabis is a healthy alternative to synthetic pharmaceuticals and a safer recreational alternative to alcohol, Big Pharma and the liquor lobby have strengthened their alliance against it.

When Maine passed the referendum in November, I briefly became delusional and considered launching a cannabis based business. I was going to “go legit”, get a MMJ card and have a place near the front of the queue for commercial licensing when it opens up later this fall.

But then some of the people I trust most and consulted with brought up some valid obstacles and questions I had not considered at all.
Questions such as

  1. what is your distribution model?
  2. who are your customers?
  3. what is the shelf life?
  4. what is the cost to produce?
  5. who is your workforce?

So after spending as much as several hours each day for months researching and developing a business plan, it became apparent to me that my best move is to continue doing what I love to do…
and just keep it 100%under the radar. Hiding in plain view among the giant sunflowers, cleome, tomatoes, beans and corn stalks.

Heh, Just about to start season 3. I knew deep down Floki was not going to betray Ragnar in favor of King Horick.

I could be on your workforce @Willd lol and I don’t know which one I would be, maybe ragnars brother or his son, they are pretty kick ass and I bet no one stops them smoking what ever they want lol

Welcome to … Viking Vapes, Welsh Weed and Paddy Puffs. :joy::joy:

@darren The most important Tip that I picked up from Bob is the simplest one:- Don’t tell anyone!!! That means absolutely nobody, not Family, not Friends, nobody. I know that can be hard but it is simple, if nobody knows you grow then no Cops will be told about it. If you’re smoking with some mates or even your Mother in Law tell them you bought some. I prefer to think of it as the 11th Commandment:- Thou Shalt not get Caught! :cop::cop::cop:

@Willd I understand the difficulties of setting up a Business. It’s sad but staying under the Radar is simply the best choice.

Sometimes the Good guys just can’t catch a break.

Yeah @Wasthatmee wish I’d read that one golden rule first, I’d already told my son and my younger brother by then, I think they are probably both a pretty safe bet and they both have my best interests at heart, they just want me around for ever, and why wouldn’t they I’m pretty dam cool lol but in all seriousness you are completely right I was just so dam pleased I was finally doing something positive, until now I’ve tried my damdest to stay positive but to be honest, some of its been a front for my loved ones, but I’ve had a lot of moments where I just feel like I’m waiting to die and if it ends the pain then just take me know, and I’m ashamed to say I’ve had dark days when I’ve been tempted to just end it all myself, just felt like I was being punished for maybe something I’ve done in a previous life or something, but I’m more positive than ever now, I’m back with a vengeance baby, let’s kick emphysema’s ass

If you want to look in on my grow, I have a thread it’s : durban poison, first time grow, and even though it’s my first time I’m even doing a scrog

And kick it’s ass we will. I lost my Dad and sis to cancer. Dad had emphysema as well. Sis had lung cancer and wanted a damn cigarette right up until her last conscious moment.

You’re gonna be ok man. You have better homeopathic med options than they did.

Yes @Willd I lost my dad to emphysema as well, the doctor tells me that in this country there will never be enough funding to find a cure, as most deaths of emphysema don’t go down on the figures as emphysema, they go down as pneumonia or other related things, my dad’s went down as pneumonia, and that means there’s probably more funding going into that than there is to emphysema, don’t know what it’s like in America or other countries

@Willd do you mind if I pick your brains about your drying and curing method, since I have never done either

@Wasthatmee believe or not when I had my pre op my so called specialist nurse tried telling me that cannabis is worse for me than tobacco, and that it actually gives you big holes in your lungs, I didn’t even bother to tell her on so many levels how wrong she was

sure thing.
So I try my best to harvest mine a handful of stems at a time when no more than 1/3 of the trics have become amber. This way I’m am guaranteed some “head high” buds to go with the more ripe “body high” buds that results from allowing more trics to turn amber as time marches along. Even harvesting from the same plant at different stages of maturity will provide some variety of effects. Your Durban Poison should produce some good medicine.

I temporarily black out the windows of my garage with landscape fabric and have an oscillating pedestal fan blowing constantly.

So I do my best to strip as much fan leaf off in the field without removing any sugar leaf trim and hang the stems upside down in my darkened garage by lines strung across it’s width. Then I try to trim all the sugar leaf off before it even starts to wilt. If not, that needs to happens within the next 24-72 hours. I collect all the trim in bags and freeze it to make bubble hash.

I manicure & dissect all the buds off all the stems leaving one stem intact and arrange in several drying racks that are 24" in dia consisting of 8 shelves each. I leave buds intact on one stem from each session as a control subject to know precisely when bending at the node where the bud is attached cracks the stem but is still to fibrous to completely snap off.
Once it reaches that point, I transfer into airtight containers and start the month long “burping” and “stirring” process until it reaches the correct humidity and flavor profile.

I’ve had great success using 5 gallon buckets lined with a 13 gallon kitchen bag to agitate aerate and transfer back and forth between buckets to keep it from getting compressed and for mold prevention.

Once I’m certain it’s not at risk for mold I remove the 13 gallon liners and place two 60gram Boveda 2-way humidity packs (62%RH) in each bucket and then monitor them only when I open them to refill my humidor(s).

That being said, I’ll also tell you that the nuggets I’m consuming today are just as potent, flavorful, and moist as the day I put those Boveda packs in service back in Nov 2015.

What different kind of edibles do you do with cannabis? Have you tried the durban poison before

Have never tried the Durban Poison, but it’s highly recommended here and pops as a result on many sites as a good potent strain for all around relief.

We really only make a few select baked goods on a regular basis and continue to experiment with it as a fat replacement in many standard recipes.

For the most part we focus on producing the cannabis infused coconut oil because it can be used in place of butter or oil in any recipe. Butter tends to leave more residue on all the extraction equipment and while never sitting around long enough to, can turn rancid. I do make a batch of butter instead of oil from time to time for spreading on pancakes or french toast or melting over pasta or potatoes. You have to like the taste of cannabis to really enjoy these items as it imparts plenty of hashy canna-goodness all over your tastebuds. It’s that nutty almost sesame like scent/flavor that just make me go gaga for it.
We make granola with lots of seeds and nuts and raisins to go around.
So really I guess the brownie bites, granola, oatmeal raisin cookies, and capsules covers everything.

I’ve made cakes, cupcakes, fillings and frostings but due to the low amount of oil they call for you’d have to eat half a cake by yourself to benefit from any effect. We tend to go for recipes that use between 1/2c-1c oil/butter per batch so we’re neither having to cut it nor eat half the batch just to get high.

Since I have 2 different strains on hand I try to keep some of each on hand for baking as to not experience strain lock, which is when your body develops a tolerance to one specific strain as a result of consuming it exclusively.
One is definitely less potent than the other and marked as such. Depending on the amount of oil a recipe calls for I may use all infused oil or calculate a ratio of infused:plain to achieve the desired potency per cookie or brownie or serving of granola.

Brownie bites used to be my favorite goodie, but recently I’ve been trying to stop eating so much sugar and fat and haven’t made anything but caps in a while. I’m always refining the process and experimenting with recipes.

I have never attempted to make edibles from concentrates like BHO or actual hashish because it seems to require an excessive amount of effort, material, and cost for so little end product.

lol, gaining weight would be the last thing on my mind if I ate two of my cookies…my thoughts would be more like “breath in, breath out, this will pass”
