Any advice? First go!

@Kena

Does that humidifier work good? Is it adjustable enough to keep RH where you want to stay? Just placed a offer on what looks to be the same one you have.

It costed me $20-30 at walgreens. It doesn’t keep the rH up high enough for seedlings. Just one of them keeps me at 35-50% for veg and I haven’t even been to flower yet :stuck_out_tongue:
I’d recommend a bigger one because I have to fill it up every day.

Well this is my very first time. I have done tons of research but I always learn best from doing things first-hand. I started 10 ILGM WW AF in seedling plugs. Soaked the plugs first in fresh, filtered, 6 pH water. Every single one lived and thrived, some are growing faster than others, but they are all being fed exactly the same so it must be genetics. Popped the tray with the plugs over a tray filled with the same water. After 24 hrs roots were dangling like crazy so I moved them to 4" rockwool cubes. I put 2 mL of piranha in the hole of each cube before i transplanted, and soaked the cubes in fresh water to obtain a pH of 5.8-6 on each cube. Each cube is covered by a film to prevent algae, and hooked up to two watering spouts. The reservoir is at 200ppm and exactly 5.8 pH at all times and the tray sits on the res. I plan to cover the tray with Hydroton to allow the roots do their thing. Right now they are stacking up at the bottom of the rockwool cubes LOL. I’ll provide some pics so you can get an idea of the set up.

^^ Reservoir

^^ The top of the seedling that is less than a week old.

^^ less than 1 week old seedling after transplant. Already spreading roots through and out the bottom of the cube.

The hydroton will be going in once i get my next paycheck, because I’ll be grabbing another air stone and some other things. I have two fans running on them. One to give them a breeze and one to circulate air. Then i am exhausting hot air out of the hood with a 6" inline and some ducting. I am slowly adding more fresh water because some of my leaf tips are slightly burnt. I am using Flower power nutes right now with the res @ ~220 ppm. (Prefer liquid nutes over powdered already). Recently topped the biggest ones and they responded greatly. They are under 1000W MH and will be changed to 1000W HPS once I make it to flower.

Those are the bottom of my cubes after 1 month^^^

After topping ^^ (slight nute burn, adding 3L of fresh pH’d water every day to res.)

Thanks for the response.

I ended up winning the auction on it. Didn’t want it for seedlings, I’ve been keeping them under a dome, but will be transplanting them next weekend and needed a way to keep the RH up over 50% in the tent. RH is usually 35 to 40%. I figured I would have to refill it everyday so not a big thing. Just hope its big enough.

Yes then it will definitely work. I keep my seedlings under a dome as well. That thing is enough to keep you around 50% but it has a small reserve so you have to fill it up a lot

Doing the dang thang, huh? York plants are looking great,keep up the good work

:slight_smile:

After topping I noticed a few bottom leaves getting dark green with a few brown spots. They are recovering quickly and the spots are disappearing, is that okay?
